Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Charles Gaba, ACA Signups: Gaba, who analyzes health care data, recently helped NPR with an in-depth piece on comparing state-by-state Covid death rates. He was not happy when NPR did not mention his name in the article after Gaba noted that he had spent a considerable amount of time with the reporters. Now Gaba is also taking issue with how NPR reported on Florida's Covid death Rate. Gaba says Florida's death rate is 15-times higher.

From the cited article, NPR seems to have remedied that aspect of their reporting...

... The controversial aspect was due to the fact that their published piece originally failed to mention my involvement or assistance in any way whatsoever.

After being called out on this by myself and others, Brumfiel called me to personally apologize and rectify the situation. To his credit, he took full responsibility and specifically noted that his colleague, Daniel Wood, had nothing to do with the oversight. Also to his credit, he arranged for the NPR story to be quickly updated to mention my assistance by name as well as to link to one of my own related COVID data analysis posts: ...

From the cited article, it looks like Florida data was removed from the NPR analysis yesterday because of Florida COVID reporting inconsistencies.

...Editor's Note: Dec. 6, 2021

This story has been updated to clarify the relationship of political partisanship to vaccination status.

Additionally, Florida's counties were removed from the analysis after publication because we learned that Florida has not updated county-level death numbers since June 3, 2021....

DeSantis advances his career on the backs of the sick and the dead, like almost all modern Republicans.

Y'all know what that means?...a while lot of dead Republicans voting in 2022.

If it was ONLY antivaxxers dying, it would probably be 90% Republicans. Wait it is pretty close to just Antivaxxers dying...

DeSantis is going to try and run for President. He's more attractive than Trump, too, and more ruthless. He is just as dumb, though.

Imagine him as President. You thought Trump was bad?

If I had a crystal ball I would predict on the GOP side it will come down to DeSantis vs Haley. She's formidable.

It's going to be intersting watching what happens with the GOP and the primaries, Bellringer. I just don't know if Haley can swing to the Trump base, or if she can get the Trump base to swing to her. Wow.

They all suck equally. So much so they're practically interchangable.

Who cares who wins. They're all ------.

Imps and demons of Trump.

So they skipped over the August surge.

How white of them.

I won't go to that ---- show down there.

My cousin's son just flew back from FL, he is unvaxxed and never wears a mask. Within a day of arriving he had a temp of 103 and coughing and wheezing...yep COVID.

Better still, his trumptard mother who was in close contact with him for the entire day went grocery shopping AFTER they were supposed to be quarantining. I called the county dept of health and reported them. I am sick of this entitled bullshoot.

That's actually pretty close to the death rate of vaxxed vs unvaxxed. So its probably not far off.

You're predicting Trump doesn't want the nomination?

Because if he does - neither stands a chance. And both would be out of their minds to be his VP.
