Thanks, responsible gun owners, we couldn't have done this without you!

Clearly, we need more guns. None of these kids would be getting shot if we had more guns.

Every American's right to shoot kids is enshrined in the Second Amendment.

I don't think we owe the founding fathers much deference at all, especially when their supposed intentions can be manipulated at will by a panel of robed political operatives, but i find it very hard to believe they intended for a society in which children are shot dead with such regularity.

Just pass a law telling the gangs to turn in their weapons and this will pretty much end, just like laws again illegal drugs have ended that problem.

"No way to prevent this' says only nation where it happens regularly. Thoughts and prayers.

Nineteen year old ---------ers are considered children.

Shooting a child every hour is a small price to pay for the freedom to interpret the 2nd amendment any way you wish.

Oh yeah, and let's blame it on the gangs... fekking gun rabid losers are more likely to kill themselves or their family member than be victims of a gang slaying.

It's a true fact that gun deaths are more of a rural problem than urban.

It looks more urban because the cities are where the national news stations are and camera vans can get on the scene.

Rural kids have more access to firearms... way more than the average city kid, and more opportunities to go stupid... which they do because they live in impoverished rural red states that run rife with corruption, crime, poverty, and drug addiction ... just like everywhere else... also a true fact.

People join the military to escape the vapidity of rural life. The military likes them because they come hard-wired to use a firearm. They use pistols for Binkys in the country.

I don't know where the 4 authors got their information. According to the FBI's website There were no where near 8,760 people murdered with a firearm of any type in 2019 or any year previously recorded. 8,760 is 1 child times 24 hours times 365 days in a year (excluding leap years). This opinion piece is hysterical hyperbole masquerading as fact based opinion. Sure it is sad when a child dies or takes their own life. One cannot blame the tool. One must place blame on the wielder of the tool. Lay blame where it belongs, not on the paper tiger of the bad gun.

There were no where near 8,760 people murdered...

Article says shot, not murdered.

Since this is what Dems want, it's no surprise to see it on DR. Congratulations, you got what you wanted. Any more terrible ideas you want to support that will increase shootings and crime?

For those that can't bother to click the link and read, the very first paragraph is copy/pasted below, just for you:

The sisters in Ohio, both in elementary school, were shot by their father. The boy in Texas was shot at home by someone in a passing car. The ninth-grader in Arkansas was shot at school by a friend. The girl in Kansas was shot by a toddler, who didn't mean to do it. The teenager in South Carolina shot himself, but he did mean to do it.

Meanwhile, in America:

In 2020, 13,620 recorded murders in the United States were committed by firearm. This is a notable increase from the previous year, when 10,537 homicides were committed with a firearm in the country.

Funny! That's exactly what I see whenever trumptake posts anything.

Hummy has no idea what "Dems" want. Obviously. Just like Boaz has no idea what a liberal is.

Insurrectionists only have one source. They only need one source. That is the nature of a cult of personality. Trumpers are not interested in facts or verifying anything they spew from their trumpy pie-holes. They are only interested in what Trumpy wants them to be interested in.

How about we put you and every other traitorous insurrection-supporting piece of filth in front of a firing squad?

Trump said a lot of nasty things. Nothing quite that nasty though. Nice work, Joe. You out-Trumped Trump. You must be proud.

Every rightwinger has the same talking points
about guns as the other...

1) gun violence primarily a thug/minority problem.
2) gun violence is predominantly the purview of drug violence
and crime.

the stats say otherwise. You know who doesn't have gun crime?
Japan and Australia... You know what they share in common?
No automatic weapons, no semi-automatic weapons, and in Japan,
no guns allowed whatsoever...

Guns promote violence. Period. More guns, more violence. Period.
More automatic and semi-automatic guns in a society, more large scale
violence. Period. These are the facts...

Oh, forgot one.

Republicans don't do facts. Period...

I guess we should give the kids guns... to protect themselves. Yeah, that'll solve it.
