Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Sunday, April 03, 2022

Michigan Congresswoman Lisa McClain falsely claimed during a Saturday campaign rally that Osama bin Laden had been caught by the Trump administration. "Well, President Trump was in office. We didn't have a war and I think he made three peace treaties," McClain said during her speech. "Caught Osama - Osama bin Laden ... " ... The 2011 raid that killed bin Laden, however, was conducted during President Barack Obama's first term in office. Joe Biden was serving as vice president at the time. Trump was hosting The Apprentice - a reality/game show on NBC.

"GOP Congresswoman Thinks Game Show Host Caught Bin Laden"

Was it Bob Barker?

Because that's more realistic than thinking Trump had anything to do with Bin Laden's being sent to hell.

Headline fail: should read "GOP ditz thinks she has identified large group of greater fools" ...

"Osama bin Laden had been caught by the Trump administration."

She probably doesn't really believe that lie. It's common for a Republican to drop a lie into their narrative in hopes it catches on and becomes the truth if it's said often enough. Although I don't think this congresswoman has that kind of juice, she may be suffering from the illusion that she's more important than she really is.

Ever since Trump entered politics it seems that the Joseph Goebbles playbook of winning strategies is a permanent fixture on every Republican's nightstand.

Republicans that lie for political benefit (virtually the entire party)
sicken me. A nation that runs on lies becomes a fascist state. There
are those within the GOP that know this, therefore, they are actively
seeking to transform America into a fascist state. They are beyond
reprehensible. They are only aided by the stupidity and desperation
of their racist, and easily pliable set of followers. They are not to
be trusted in any situation, let alone, leadership positions.

vote democrat, return to sanity...

Like Trump Goebbels pitched a gospel of hate to rubes. But he had a better costume designer in Hugo Boss.

There was indeed an outpouring of Republican sympathy for that "sick old man", Osama Bin Laden, as soon as Obama killed him.

The GOP's mourning of Bin Laden has an eerie parallel with their current sympathy for Putin. Except that Putin isn't dead. Yet.

Another dingbat to join the likes of Boobert and the Warthog. Barnum & Bailey would still be in business if they'd had these three in their circus.

What kinda crap are you selling now and who is fool enough buy any of it? There is something very wrong with you. Unless you really are a Russian bot. Then all the crap you say actually makes sense.

Obama cheered on Osama so he could later catch him and kill him and so become an international hero?

Oooooh that Obama was such a clever chess player, no?

And fast too! Obama did in 1 year what Bush could not do in 8 (because Bush wasn't really trying?)

It's his way of deflecting from Republican thought leaders like Trump and Carlson publicly and proudly supporting Putin's war crimes in Ukraine.

I have realized that when some ----------- says something stupid, wrong, or racist, it's not their fault. After all, liars gotta lie.

I do wish that their target audience would yell STFU at them.

But no.

Who pays you to distract from and give cover to every sleazy lie that any GQP member tells?
It's ok for you to just say Lisa McClain is a liar and obvious fraud and is unfit to hold office.

CONTRECOUP

We try to avoid turning this site into an echo chamber for liberals.

Don't assume that the "bots" have any real influence. Nor should you allow them to incite you. Use "killfiles" if they bother you that much. The rest of us just use them for target practice, much like rows of pigeons at a street carnival.

They enjoy the attention and we enjoy shooting down the pins.

It's all just background noise but it still generates traffic.
