A few minutes before it became clear that women, children and elderly people were among the at least 39 dead and nearly 100 known to be injured when a missile struck the Kramatorsk train station in eastern Ukraine, Russian soldiers were bragging about the hit on Telegram.

False flag attack and the victims were crisis actors, especially the dead ones.

They should have called them "suspected militants" like we do for any male over 12.

And yet Margie Mattress Back tried to shout down Congressman Raskin the other day, claiming the war was somehow fake news? She must still be mad that she's always the last one picked at the coke ----, and she's much too old for Venmolestor Gaetz.

Remember the movie War Games? The conclusion that saved them all was that sometimes, the only way to win a game is not to play. Russia, if it had just accepted the new powers and status of Ukraine, as a friendly state, well, NATO would be still weak and the Russian Army would be seen as invincible.
Putin, if he ever stands to lose the land he stole from Ukraine, will be tempted to use tactical nuclear weapons. The world really is always a button push from hell.

#7-and if Putin had held on a little longer, he would have had Europe by the short-hairs thru Nordstrom. It will never cease to amaze me that he didn't wait for that pipeline to be online before he pulled the Ukraine trigger. But then Russian dictators have been invading their neighbors for 400 years-it's just in their DNA I guess.

From what I hear, the Moscow Midget couldn't wait for Nord Stream to come on line because he has advanced cancer.

If true, this would explain why Pootey is hyper-paranoid about COVID. It would also explain why Joe had no compunctions about declaring Pootey to be a war criminal, since Vlad the SelfImpaler will be shuffling off this mortal coil in the near future.

#8 - Other than losing his willing accomplice in the WH, the timing puzzles me. Dotard would pull the US from NATO in a second term, which was why Putin didn't invade while Combover Quisling was in office. With President Biden there, rebuilding our relationships with allies, I wonder if Putin thought the longer he waited, the more complicated it would be. I agree with your Nordstream 2 assessment, seems like he would have had more leverage, which brings me back to the rumors about Putin's health. He has been COVID paranoid since near the start of the pandemic, suggesting a severe underlying condition. Maybe he's terminal which is why he cares not about war crimes. His moves reek of desperation, like his legacy, is to put Russia on the path of rekindling the USSR, and it has to happen now. If that's the case, he has nothing to lose, which is our worst-case scenario.

EVERYTHING about the launch of this war was poorly planned and executed. I can list 10 things off the top of my head. Putin is isolated and clearly not all that upstairs. Whether it is because of dementia, he just isn't that smart or he believed the myth of the Russian army's invincibility when put against Ukraine.

I have read suggestions the Wagner Group and Chechens are behind many of the atrocities. In other words - not the conscripts.

Poorly planned and executed? How long did they hold exercises along the border? They didn't recognize deficiencies then?

No, they had delusions of grandeur and on top of that expected they to be welcomed.

NATO has been cornering them for years. The Ukrainians have been shelling the Donbass and planned their own offensive against the breakaway provinces. NATO has been arming and training them for this.

Russia believed war was inevitable and chose the time themselves.

"NATO has been cornering them for years. "

Russia shares just 6% of its land borders with NATO members. If that is cornering, then NATO are not very good at it.

"Russia believed war was inevitable..."

If you know that you intend to launch an unprovoked attack against a sovereign country, believing that war is inevitable is... well, inevitable.
