Some places don't have oil or gas. Why would the industry buy those areas for their mineral rights if none are there?

"Cook Inlet lease sale would not proceed due to insufficient industry interest."

Fox Noos: Biden cancels sales to force you to drive an EV that has a 400 foot range. He also eats babies alive.

Here in Okiehomie oil/gas company after oil/gas company talk of 'returning capital to shareholders', 'conserving capital' and 'restricting new development'. Producers are not developing new supply sources because investors want to see a return, banks want to be repaid, and producers are facing high costs for material, equipment and labor. While they talk that up in the WSJ, these same companies are making noise about getting lease access to more government land--because that is the cheapest land to develop. At the same time, oil/gas companies are not making use of the leases they already have in hand (ignoring the leases just cancelled). Politicians hereabout try to talk up the high price of gas at the pump, conveniently ignoring what is already being said by the oil companies, i.e., 'we're not drilling for more and we're not producing more in the short term, because we like the price of oil where it is now'...

But we need to rape the land of everything so I can drive to the store and get a candy bar! I can't buy expensive gas from companies with record profits!/s

No problem. Biden will be gone soon.

And when oil companies don't increase production and gas prices don't change?

Biden will be gone soon.

Ok you believe that and I will believe that criminally negligent Trumpy "leaves the scene" one way or another before Biden. But you never know. But if Trumpy does run again I also would bet Biden kicks Trumpy rump all over the debate stage should Trumpy manage to escape Justice again and also muster enough courage to actually go toe to toe with Biden. Biden beat him once so it should be obvious even to trumptards that he can do it again.

But like the old man with the white horse ... We'll see.

I don't think either will run. Joementia will be drooling in his pudding by then. Trump will be too old. He'd be 78 upon inauguration. Only an unapologetic idiot would vote for somebody that old.
