Video of the late Senator John McCain (R-AZ) saying that Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) was working for Russian President Vladimir Putin has garnered renewed attention online after Paul single-handedly blocked a vote on a new aid package to Ukraine on Thursday.

If there is a change of government in Moscow, I expect secrets to be out and Paul to lose his paddle while navigating sh-creek.

Pay-offs from Russia explain so much about the Republican Party.

Israel has lobbyists paying off senators, why shouldn't Russia.

That's how capitalism works.

Putin has his patsy's.

The call themselves republicans.

Rand Paul seems to have superglued himself to the coat tails of Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin for a bookoo amount of money.

What state does he represent again? Oh yeah, never mind. It's Mitch McConnell's Kentucky.

Nuff' said.

John McCain is, perhaps, the last patriotic Republican

#5 That's rich and FF worthy. I wish I had archived the RIP John McCain thread and the posts by you and others from the left.

Sure you do. Then you couldn't make up lies about it. Go get stuffed.

Here you go, liar.

Obama won that election but John McCain earmed his place in history by his willingness to defend his opponent. RIP sir, a great American has left us. A great American has left us. I do not know if we will see his kind again and I fear for America because of that.

Do you have the integrity to apologize to Danni about your knee-jerk and ignorant response to Danni's kind words about McCain?

We'll see.

It's so sad to see how so many republicans can't seem to remember anything from the last 3-4 years.

Probably that long term Covid brain fog thing.

Yup.

Sad to see how many Republicans fell for another silly old "dem hoax". They literally fell laughing ... Into their graves. So Gracie is lucky she didn't lose that much.

Only her mind.

Of course she doesn't.

Amazing how most of the right wing folks here follow the Reich wing MO - accuse others of what you do. I personally didn't post on the thread but I had great respect for McCain but I also remember regular praise for him.

I will say I think he went full on nutty when he ran against Obama to try and win - I blame that on desperation to win. I mean he picked The Quitter from Wasilla as his running mate. Honestly if any Republican had a chance at uniting the country - it was McCain.

#12 As you point out, he blew that chance with his choice of running mate. She turned out to be a Deplorable.

Obama did a pretty good job of unifying America. But the 30% of so of Americans who are hardcore racists lost their minds over it, and now the inmates are running the asylum over at the GOP.

McCain did another thing other Republicans like Bush and Trump were incapable of doing; accept defeat gracefully ;ike Americans who actually believe in democracy.

Palin was by far McCain's biggest political mistake, and was partially responsible for the rise of Trumpism in America. By promoting Palin, McCain was promoting Trumpism.

But McCain was a good and honest man who followed his conscience. Which makes me think he had good reasons to accuse Paul of essentially treason. I doubt McCain took making the accusation lightly.

Palin was by far McCain's biggest political mistake,

Unfortunately for him. The decision was foisted upon him by the GOP.

One day we'll learn exactly how many tentacles putin has penetrated into the GOP. It's far more than we've learned so far.

The fact that trump picked manafort - who had been working for years to install putin puppets across european governments - to run his campaign tells you everything. Yet it's almost totally forgotten by everyone already.

Putin was funding the GOP with money laundered through the NRA. Trump PARDONED the middleman who was convicted in the scheme. Most americans dont even know about his because DEMS ARE PATHETIC.

The evidence of trump being putin's puppet is overwhelming, yet the public narrative is that russiagate was DEBUNKED, when in fact it was the top of the iceberg in the biggest political scandal in american history.

Assuming past is prologue, Republicans will so successfully flood the zone with ----, and Dems will be so ineffective at hammering the point home, and the media will bothsides it so hard, that the vast majority of the public won't understand it when it does come out.

I fear #19 is correct.

If it isn't obvious to the mass of Americans by now, when will it ever be?

McCain's son in law and daughter seem to be on Putin's payroll as well.

The US totally corrupted the political systems of both Russia and the Ukraine. It led directly first to Putin himself and then to this proxy war in the Ukraine. If the US had just left Russian politics alone and not secured Yeltsin's win, maybe the Russians wouldn't have returned the favor.

Once again, we accuse others of our own crimes. Heal thyself.

Why do you think its just the GOP?

www.newsweek.com

Heck even Hillary has said groups on the left were funded by Putin.

"We were up against Russia pushing oligarchs and others to buy media," Clinton said in a June 2014 speech.
"We were even up against phony environmental groups, and I'm a big environmentalist, but these were funded by the Russians to stand against any effort, oh that pipeline, that fracking, that whatever will be a problem for you, and a lot of the money supporting that message was coming from Russia," she said.

I mean the US has been invaded by Russia, appearently ... Claiming its only one sided is just tribalism.
