Hilarious!

Trump-loving NRA geniuses will be SO upset when the Marshall (Secret Ser) makes them check their guns at the door before they enter the saloon.

It is a requirement from the Secret Service but it is the NRA's decision. They are the ones who booked Trump to speak and agreed to the terms.

So automatic weapons are OK in school but not at the NRA convention. That sounds like an R state. Abortions are forbidden but once the kid is born it makes a dandy target.

Good point. The NRA decided that having Trump there was worth making their members come unarmed and unhappy about it.

Of course, supporting sensible regulations on guns like they have in Vermont, for instance, where most gun sales are done through the state and there are capacity regulations, is really too much trouble merely to protect children in schools.

The NRA has better MAGA things to do.

Bribing politicians, legally or not, and a few dead kids are just part of the overhead, part of the cost of doing bidness.

Yes, correct...you want the potus there you agree to these security measures, but as you can see, the NRA as well as others....like me....don't give

a flipping fluck what you have to say about it.

I do understand why this opens up a venue for the comments, but the measures are to protect him from leftist garbage... ( blm - antifa, and maybe

even posters on blogs who have a recorded history of making threatening remarks )... not the

NRA.

The weapons ban is to protect him from weapons.

Kempster misses the entire point. It was the NRA who said that good guys with guns are the best protection against bad guys with guns. I don't give a rats what the SS wants, the NRA should hold to their mantra. No liberal is going to be in a room full of NRA gun nuts packing or not. Anyone with a living brain cell knows that.

But if the Secret Service DEMANDS that no one else in the room can have firearms, shouldn't that be the same everywhere people congregate if gun-free environments effectively keep gun violence from occurring? Isn't that antithetical to the entire raison d'etre of the NRA?

If the NRA and Trump had any nutz, they'd demand the restriction be lifted because it's a blatant violation of the attendees' 2nd Amendment rights. But as scaredy-cat Kempster sees it, it's safer to keep potential liberal gun owners from having the opportunity to target Trump even when the room would be full of armed supporters itching to cap anyone trying to harm their orange god.

Can the NRA and Kempster be any more contradictory - or selective - in their advocacy of gun rights?

There will only be about 14 acres of guns already there.....

Republicans pledge allegiance to a hobbled NRA
Despite the school massacre, Donald Trump and other prominent pols are still planning to speak at an event the group is holding this week in Houston.

The Secret Service is the final authority on matters like this.

So the Secret Service's congressionally mandated power can override a constitutional amendment's expressed rights?

Good to know. We can solve the school shooting problem immediately. Put the Secret Service in charge of security at every public school in America.

Glad you're aboard Willowby.

It's weird. Almost as if they believe guns are dangerous.

Seems odd that Trumpers would agree with them.

Also. Who are you trying to lie to? Yourself?

MAGATs are well know for disregarding government safety regulations.

If I was running Lewzer's detail I wouldn't let any of his "Base" anywhere near him with a gun.

Way too much risk of getting your client shot by some mindless idiot "by accident" while he was showing off the latest "Mod" to "Her".
