At its heart is a grievance-filled, insecure president, unable to face the fact of his defeat, working with a cabal of loyalists in and out of government to pursue an evolving plan that unfolded in successive chapters, each in effect taking aim at a pillar of democracy.

There was a failed legal strategy that clogged the courts with fantastical conspiracy theories. It was followed by a plot to twist the Justice Department into backing Mr. Trump's repeated lie that the election had been rigged and stolen from him, and consideration of proposals that he direct the military or the Homeland Security Department to seize voting machines.

Those were followed by a strong-armed attempt to subvert the Electoral College process and bludgeon Mr. Pence into taking part, all leading to the violent effort to keep Congress from formally affirming Mr. Trump's loss on Jan. 6.

Taken as a whole, the narrative that has emerged - elements of which the House select committee on Jan. 6 will begin setting out on Thursday evening in the first of a series of hearings - is as chilling as it is audacious.

This IS a trial - in the court of public opinion - which will set the stage for whatever happens next.

And the prosecutors are painting quite a damning scenario of facts and evidence showing the obvious criminal culpability of the former POTUS.

The case against Trump and all the Republicans who empowered his megalomania isn't being told by Democrats, it's being told by the very Republicans he picked to surround himself within both his Administration and White House. It's the Republicans' and staffers' words and impressions that will damn him and insure that he will be held accountable for his perfidy - never sniffing any more chances to further abuse the public trust he already criminally eviscerated.

The next story to be clearly made is the one about Trump's own Cabinet trying to organize within itself to invoke the 25th Amendment immediate removal of Donald Trump for both his instigation of the violent attack on the Capitol by his called-in supporters - hundreds upon hundreds marching with "Trump" flags and then dozens more draping huge ones over the walls and facades of the Capitol - making exactly clear why they were there in that moment, and with whom their allegiance and loyalty lied.

Democrats are not damning Trump at all, it's totally Republicans telling their whole truth in honor and respect for the U.S. Constitution to which they all swore allegiance to as they watched the President from their own party dishonor and violate his own oath in service of only himself.

Apparently just like in A Few Good Men, you simply can't handle the truth and the truth is that the daughter of a conservative icon is leading the case against Trump, not because he's a Republican, but because he's a cancer on this society whose corrosive influence needs to be removed once and for all in order for this republic to survive.

That isn't and never has been the standard that determines whether Donald Trump committed crimes against this nation and our Constitution. Your viewpoint is completely irrelevant as matters of both law and fact.

Trump is facing multiple criminal charges that have nothing to do with storming the capital. Again, you're an ignoramus who is too ignorant to comprehend all that you don't know. By the end of the hearings, these are all the facts and evidence for which Trump will be judged - both in future courts and in the immediate court of public opinion.

1. President Trump engaged in a massive effort to spread false and fraudulent information to the American public claiming the 2020 election was stolen from him.

2. President Trump corruptly planned to replace the Acting Attorney General, so that the Department of Justice would support his fake election claims.

3. President Trump corruptly pressured Vice President Pence to refuse to count certified electoral votes in violation of the US Constitution and the law.

4. President Trump corruptly pressured state election officials, and state legislators, to change election results.

5. President Trump's legal team and other Trump associates instructed Republicans in multiple states to create false electoral slates and transmit those slates to Congress and the National Archives.

6. President Trump summoned and assembled a violent mob in Washington and directed them to march on the US Capitol.

7. As the violence was underway, President Trump ignored multiple pleas for assistance and failed to take immediate action to stop the violence and instruct his supporters to leave the Capitol.

Can't read Reg? Trump's own people are already on record - UNDER OATH - that he DID give direct orders or attempt to issue criminally illegal orders! This is already documented from testimony given by the people in Trump's own Administration who he gave or tried to give the illegal orders to.

It's already been done. Go back up and try to understand what the 7 points above actually mean. The Committee isn't hoping that these things happened, they have the evidence that these things happened.

I realize your feeble mind isn't wired to understand linear progression logic much less spatial concepts. But it's obvious to the blind that this committee has all the receipts needed to prove what we all saw clearly as it's been happening: The lie Trump keeps repeating that he was a victim of fraud and actually won the 2020 election lies as the foundation of every single criminal act later spawned. And Trump continues to confirm his own guilt every single day since the lie started.
