'Cheney's claim was a "laughable, ludicrous, and a thoroughly soulless lie."'

I expect there are receipts.

I hope Perry and a few other Congressmen (it's not hard to guess who) spent a sleepless night.

Other than Perry, who were the others?

Presumably TBA.

According to Newsweek

While Cheney did not name the other Republican lawmakers who are alleged to have sought presidential pardons, there have been previous reports detailing who they could be.

In January 2021, CNN reported that Reps. Andy Biggs and Mo Brooks"who were both subpoenaed by the committee with Perry"and Paul Gosar sought clemency from Trump in the wake of January 6, which the former president ultimately refused.

In their May letter to Biggs requesting information, the House Committee said that the Arizona congressman's name was mentioned by a former White House personnel as being part of efforts by some Republicans to seek a presidential pardon for "activities taken in connection with President Trump's efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election" in the wake of January 6.

In October 2021, Rolling Stone reported that Gosar had promised "blanket pardons" for those who organized the election protests on January 6, which preceded the attack on the Capitol.

Wait...

Why would pardons even be needed for those members of Congress?

Might they have done something unlawful?

LAMP

I think the deal was if they did something unlawful, they'd get a pardon. Just shows to go what fools they were to think loyalty to Trump was a two-way street.

You'd think, after watching Trump's use and abuse m.o. for four years, that the suckers would have it figured out by now.

Everybody seems to think that they're going to be special.

Damn near an admission of guilt.

Yup.

I cannot add anything to your comment.

It would be if they were dumb enough to put the reason they needed a pardon in writing.

You would not seek a pardon unless you knew what you were doing was dodgy at best, illegal at worst.

The actions speak for themselves.

Pardons also mean they've lost their right to plead the 5th. Trump knew what he was doing when he turned them down.

Deny and delay and obfuscate is the name of the game.

Wonder what words he uses for Trumpy's "Big Lie".

Better save some words for that.

And there is a whole more coming regarding Trumpy's attempted insurrection.

"The ostrich thread ..."

Yup.

The theory is if they can avoid talking about it it will go away! You know. Like racism.

How long can they keep their heads in the sand? Hopefully FoxProp can make it all better!
