Ivanka didn't "check out." There's video evidence of her, Don Jr. and others in the VIP tent behind the stage at the Ellipse dancing around, laughing and joking as they watched the riot play out on a big screen.

Ivanka was a believer.

Trump didn't throw her under the bus. He only said she wasn't informed enough to say what she said about Bill Barr. In essence, he let her off the hook by pointing out her incompetence. You could say, he protected his daughter.
