Ingebrigtsen won the the mile race at the Wanda Diamond League meeting on Thursday, clocking a time of 3 minutes and 46 seconds. He ran the mile faster than anyone in 21 years on a chilly, wet night in Oslo that was far from ideal for track and field events and he's only 21 years old. What will this Norseman be like in a few years in ideal conditions?

Weird I thought it was the mile.

Still I imagine he could switch to the 100m.

You're going the fastest you can in the 100. You can't keep up that speed for the mile. That being said, I think the 800 is the hardest event - not really a distance race, not really a sprint.

I can still remember running the mile in high school.

It was the only time coach said we could lay down when we were done.

I didn't understand why he said that till the run was over and about half my class collapsed on the grass.

I managed to keep standing but only because I wanted to smile at all the people finishing behind me.
