... Shocking testimony from the Texas DPS director on Tuesday has revealed even more insight into the "abject failure" of response to the Uvalde shooting that occurred on May 24.

Texas Department of Public Safety Director Col. Steven McCraw revealed that the husband of slain elementary teacher Eva Mireles tried to save her but was barred from doing so.

Ruben Ruiz is a police officer for the school district and was on the scene after the gunman entered the school and opened fire.

McCraw said Mireles called Ruiz and told him that "she had been shot and was dying."

"And what happened to him, is he tried to move forward into the hallway," McCraw said. "He was detained and they took his gun away from him and escorted him off the scene."...

OK, now I am starting to understand the reason why Gov Abbott did not want to release information about the mass shooting.

Based upon this report, it looks like the police on the scene not only did not move to stop the shooting, but they actively tried to allow the mass-shooting to continue.

I truly hope that opinion is wrong.

I keep hearing how our guns are supposed to protect us from this kind of tyranny.

It's a lie, but I sure do keep hearing it.

Yep.

It's not a whole lot different than the cops who did nothing while that cop murdered George Floyd.

These officers should resign in disgrace. They allowed teachers and children to die to save their own fat asses while they stood around listening to the sounds of more kids being killed horribly.

To Protect (themselves) and Serve (their own fat asses).

At least we found out it's not just black boys and men that scare the s**t out of the police...

I for one believe that the Only Good Guys with Guns should be the police. They are our best, brightest, and bravest.

Overheard outside the school:

"I'm a good guy with a gun, here to save my wife from a bad guy with a gun!!"

"Whoa, there bandito, not so fast. What gringo did you rob for that gun?"
