When we get to the final vote, watch the GOP all vote no, including the ones that worked on this milquetoast compromise. Throw in GQP light Manchin and it will not pass.

Yep, the GQP/NRA toadies will not let this bill pass.

And... the House GOP immediately pees all over it.

"House GOP Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) will whip Republicans to vote against the Senate agreement, a leadership aide told POLITICO. Scalise and Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy told members during a closed-door conference meeting Wednesday that they will oppose the Senate deal, a sign of where most Republicans are expected to land.

"It's a betrayal of Republican voters. It earns those senators no plaudits that will be durable," Rep. Dan Bishop (R-N.C.) said about the Senate agreement.

"I don't think it smells good at all," said Rep. Brian Babin (R-Texas). "I feel like the bill is gonna open the door to unnecessary gun regulations."

Makes sense. Abortion Bounty Hunters in TX need guns to protect themselves and bag them some womens.

Bishop isnt wrong.

We all know progressives wont stop there. They will keep pushing. And that is the problem.

I am not going to let the past failures prevent me from having a bit of hope this time. The more republicans the better, too. Maybe, just maybe after all the pushing for the insanity of guns guns guns guns America's going to finally get what they have wanted for years. Just maybe.

Well past time. Way, way past time. for it to happen.

Ah, so one should never do anything when it is possible someone might push it further?

That's known as a catatonic state.

Considering that you could count the votes for "taking away everyone's guns!" in Congress without removing your shoes, that hardly seems like a reason not to have this watered down Bill that provides at least some helpful regulation.

Y'all Qaeda pushed and pushed and against the wishes of the majority of Americans it looks like abortion is going to be outlawed.
Vanilla ISIS pushed and pushed and now high powered rifles and guns are ubiquitous, and children are routinely ripped to shreds by shooters.
American Taliban pushed and pushed and thought they failed on January 6th, they haven't stopped pushing - doing their best to drag America into s-hole territory, putting a knife in the heart of our Republic.

Pretty sure America's feeling they they've had enough of one side's pushing. I sure hope so.

True but not a reason to reject the bill from what I know so far, which is not much.

Trump's pissed at McCarthy for not allowing his other 3 on the Committee (Pelosi rejected 2 that had no business being considered).
McCarthy's second guessing himself over his decision to take his ball and go home - even though no one wanted to play with his ball.
FockSnooze decided the ratings were too good to miss out so...
and higher ratings than the NBA playoffs - but no one cares, no one is watching...

LMAO!

Liz Cheney is a liberal? Since when?

All the witnesses are liberals? Which ones?

More proof of why you have to hide from what happened and lie about it instead.

Your best defense of your fascist coup attempt is "The ratings are low so we'll get away with it!"

Which isn't a defense. It's an admission of guilt.

No sane person would be satisfied with a system that lets angry 18 year olds walk into a store and walk out with an assault rifle.

That's their (insane) definition of Freedom.
As a bonus, you are Very Naughty in their eyes, for referring to an AR-15 as an "assault rifle" since it is not capable of burst fire or fully automatic fire.

The only thing this ---- will do is let LEO confront people who are accused of being crazy. The Pulse nightclub is a prime example. They didn't care. Neither did the feds care about Dylann Roof. But let's make gun ownership hard on law abiding citizens.

#23 Yep. An abusive ex-boyfriend accuses his ex-girlfriend of being crazy to get her gun taken away so he can prey on her with her primary mode of defense taken away.

So what you're saying is, guns keep women safe from abusive ex-boyfriends.
Got any statistics to back that up?
