Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

The Justice Department's investigation of the Jan. 6 attack ratcheted up Wednesday as federal agents dropped subpoenas on people in at least two states, in what appeared to be a widening probe of how political activists supporting President Donald Trump tried to use invalid electors to thwart Joe Biden's 2020 electoral victory.

"FBI officials confirmed to The Washington Post that agents conducted court authorized law enforcement activity Wednesday morning at two locations " one the address of Brad Carver, a Georgia lawyer who allegedly signed a document claiming to be a Trump elector, and another the Virginia home of Thomas Lane, who worked on the Trump campaign's efforts in Arizona and New Mexico."

Ever sign a fake electors ballot and then wish you hadn't?

Hate when that happens.

139 days until the midterm election.

140 days until this gets shut down.

Time is ticking.

-It's theater

One can hardly tell that there are Dems in the room; what the public sees is 90 percent Trump lawyers and other Trumpers, election officials and stuff... all testifying under oath against a minority of Trump lawyers who, along with Trump, very obviously broke several Fed laws while trying to stay in power.

But that's mere substance. Not "the Narrative" that more important to rwingers than even democracy itself, and the rule of law. More important because you can't "own a lib" with votes as easily as you can with a good Narrative.

You know, a Big Lie that is falling apart in front of their faces. Or would be had they the courage, and the patriotism, to watch and listen to the facts of what actually happened, according to Trumpers on the stand.

@#4 ... It's theater, dumbass. ...

I've noticed that attempted "explanation" is all the GOP leadership seems to be able to come up with in order to contradict the under-oath testimony of Republicans, many of whom were in the Trump White House.

The lameness of the attempted "explanation" is quite a good endorsement of the work the Committee is doing.

Trump talks to us about McCarthy
punchbowl.news

...A feeling has sprouted up in the minds of some GOP lawmakers we've spoken to. They've begun to quietly wonder whether they would've been better off with a seat at the table.

Let's be abundantly clear: The decision to boycott these hearings was House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy's to make. Speaker Nancy Pelosi barred GOP Reps. Jim Jordan (Ohio) and Jim Banks (Ind.) from serving on the panel, and McCarthy " in a difficult position " refused to allow any Republicans to take part in response.

By sitting it out, Republicans thought they could make it seem like a one-sided, one-party witch hunt " despite the presence of Reps. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) and Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) on the panel....

Feds search home of former DOJ official tied to Trump's efforts to overturn election
abcnews.go.com

...Federal agents searched the Virginia home of former Trump Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark on Wednesday morning, according to multiple sources with direct knowledge of the activity.

It was unclear which federal agencies conducted the search, but one neighbor who witnessed the law enforcement activity said they saw officials entering and exiting the Lorton, Virginia, home after arriving there early Wednesday. A spokesperson for the Fairfax County, Virginia, Police Department told ABC News that its officers assisted with law enforcement activity at the house, but deferred to the Justice Department for further comment.

A spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Washington, D.C., said they "can confirm there was law enforcement activity in that area yesterday," but declined to comment on specific individuals or the nature of that activity....

These subpoenas were dropped by DOJ not the J6 Committee. The DOJ investigation will continue beyond the November election.

DOJ, eh? A bunch of these targets are learning that unlike for Congressional subpoenas they cannot easily dance around a subpoena from a law enforcement agency. Many of these knobs had better lawyer up and lube up...

Are you seriously suggesting the committee is not revealing significant information about Trump administration's illegal behavior and intent?

Stay ignorant. It suits you.

Swallow it.

You mean.... They saved it for 2-1/2 years? These revelations? How special, like making us wait until Christmas morning to open the presents.

IT's been 1 1/2 years dumbass.

The hearings, which you're desperately avoiding watching or talking about, are causing more investigation to happen and more people to come forward.

We know how much that bothers you. You need your fascist coup attempt to be forgotten.
