Republicans hate everything that has happened in public education since Brown v Board of Ed.

Thousand of kids fail to graduate every year Obviously this means public schools have failed us, (ignoring the millions of kids who do graduate) It's what the American people want after all

Most public schools are crap unless they're in a wealthy area. Expel the 1 percent of kids who ruin it for the other 99% and they might have a chance. Barring that, vouchers that allow parents to pull their kids out and send them to private schools that have the ability to select their students is the best alternative.
Poor kids whose families don't have resources will end up suffering, though, as they're still stuck in the school with the problem kids and the school has even less funding.

An educated public is incompatible with and only interferes with the goals of the Republican Party

I've never understood the hate of schools. I mean if you really want to "Make America Great Again" a highly educated populace seems like a pretty good place to start.
If it's just the "indoctrination" of youth that is an issue, the school gets your kid 30 hours a week 9 months a year you get your kid the other 7599 hours a year. If you can't beat the schools indoctrination with a 5 times as many hours maybe the problem is what you are trying to indoctrinate. I mean if I'm trying to convince a kid brussels sprouts are better than candy I'm probably going to lose that no matter how many hours are dedicated to brussels sprouts promotion.

This is typical of the GOP.
Do not give a public institution the resources it needs to do its job properly, then use its performance to further reduce the resources given to that institution.
It is a death spiral, and the GOP knows it.
Indeed, that is their strategy.

This has been the strategy used by Republicans for the entire nation any time Democrats take the presidency for as long as can remember. Drown the baby so you can say you will save it.

I am sure that the Mormons love this option.
The morons love it, too! No more teacher's dirty looks!

The destruction of public education will cause residential property values to tumble nationwide, especially in Better performing school districts in Red states, like my district here in Edmond, Okiehomie. Districts in purple and blue states (like the district where I lived in Ohio) will survive better, because of school performance and the fact that residents in those districts know strong public schools support home values. Those schools will be protected by the populace, and schools like my current local schools will suffer. I just want to get out of here in time ...

LOL ....
Since 2000 Admin Staff up 88% Principles and assistants up 37% Students up 8% Teachers up 8% twitter.com
Go back to 1950's twitter.com
The more public schooling fails, the more state bureaucracy imposes increased compliance and regulation on schools which requires more admins to support at school level.
Good Luck!

LOL The public school system is broken by any and all measures, its the Republicans that are trying to fix it. What is our solution?? More money to administrators and Principles. It ain't working what else do we have? Teaching gender studies to K-6?? Is that it? What am I missing?
Us Democrats need to get off the Teachers Unions and start understanding the public school system as currently implemented isn't working.
The current course is collapsing.

All kids need to know is that the Christian God is the true God and that America is the chosen land of that God, who will bring prosperity as long as you bring forth His kingdom on earth. There's no reason for children to learn anything except obedience to the Christian God. Anything else potentially leads to sin and America being forsaken.

We didn't have these troubles when I went to school in the 50s. We had gay kids that were liked. We had black kids that were liked. In fact I can't remember one kid that didn't fit the mold of totally average, being rejected.
Why? Because .. The. Teacher. Was. In. Charge.

Who are you lying to?
Brown vs board of education was 1954.
I doubt there were any openly homosexual kids.

Right-wing paranoid parents are increasingly taking charge.
Vaccines, for example. Masks, for example.
After 9/11 parents demanded their kids be able to carry cell phones in school, for example.
The right capitalized on that self-righteous busbody attitude and now we have laws like Don't Say Gay.
