I signed the petition to put it on the ballot several weeks ago. The thing is we still have Republican super majorities. They can take it up as legislation, twist it and put it into law on their own removing it from the ballot. They have done it with other legislation. Most famously a paid time off proposal.

Is that a decision that would affect private companies?

Yes it would. The purposed law required 40 hours Sick Time per year. The GOP took it and watered it down.

As a direct result, I actually lost my 40 hours of sick time per year and it was replaced with 16 hours of PTO. Net, I lost 24 hours sick time I had for 16 years prior to that. So today I say f--- it and unless I am deathly ill I come to work and spread the love. So do my coworkers. What are you going to do? Take your vacation time? lol
