"In our nation's 246 year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump. He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him," Dick Cheney says in the one-minute ad, titled "He Knows It."

"He is a coward. A real man wouldn't lie to his supporters. He lost his election and he lost big. I know it, he knows it and deep down I think most Republicans know it."

Given that Deadeye Dick would prolly make my Top Ten Threats Liest, I have mixed feelings, lol.

But when you're right, you're right.

He isn't wrong.

Rep. Cheney's career is being ruined because she's doing what she is obligated to do even in the face of adversity.

Let's talk about Republican icons talking about Trump....

Rep. Cheney's career is being ruined because she made a calculated gamble that this clown show she signed on to participating in was going to move the political needle and create an opportunity to brand herself as a viable, nationally-electable politician in a Neo-Con Globalist Republican Party that subverts the interests of her constituents to Defense Conglomerates, Tech Companies, and ultimately the CCP.

Just like her daddy.

Unfortunately for her, it didn't work and that's not the direction we're going in.

Trump rolled that rotting log over and showed every one all the nasty ----- slithering beneath it.

Fun times ahead. :)

- clown show

Which part is the funniest is really the only question.

The part where 90 percent of Trump's aides testified under oath about his premeditated criminal acts, or the part where the 10 percent of his aides who helped him took the 5th hundreds of times?

My favorite funny moment must have been the look on Trump's face when his own DOJ appointees refused to sign his letter to the states telling them the lie that there was election corruption.... you know, after they had all just all told there wasn't.

Real kneeslapper!

Trump's Circus Show only played well to the rubes and the kooks; anyone with half a brain never believed his Big Lie under the Big Top.

Keep writing them checks to the DNC and their candidates, old feller. Gotta stop them Nazis and Fascists, you know.

That's all this was ever about. :)

I will. I figure it's at least twice your income each year.

Suggestion, though. Try Mao-Facetious as a new handle.

It's what people resort to when all the facts are against them and they would look silly arguing the facts.

Buenos noches, pard.

#8 | Posted by Corky at 2022-08-05 12:41 AM | Reply

when all the facts are against them

"Facts" in this context are in the domain of a courtroom. With a discovery process. And a defense.

You're confusing a choreographed political and media production produced by the Democrat party with a legitimate legal proceeding.

There's a reason for that.

But it don't matter as long as you keep writing them checks, Viejo.

It's criminal how they manipulate our elderly who should know better....and our younger who don't.

You're SO lucky... it looks like you'll get your wish!

From the DOJ. Also from from the AG in Georgia... not to mention the one in NY.

You are confusing a group of aides telling the truth under penalty of perjury, and those taking the 5th, with people just making ---- up for political reasons.

If you threw Rudy G into the Hearing and let him ask questions, it would be even worse for everyone concerned.
And the facts wouldn't change significantly.

I guess once someone has bought the Big Lie, the little lies about how all these hand-picked Trump lawyers lying under oath and this is just all politics is easy to swallow.

But I'll loan you a towel to dry yourself off behind the ears whenever you want me to.

Sorry - I don't place a whole lot of stock into what Dick Cheney has to say. He ushered into our body politick a truly toxic mix of some of the worst of the left and the right. Massive spending - new entitlements - lax border security - etc - all under the banner of "compassionate conservativism." Then on foreign policy is was all about PNAC neocon nation building and projecting a hegemony that really never appeared to be designed to mostly benefit the US. Never mind that off all of the horrible green-energy shams that administration ushered in the absolute worst with ethanol and all sorts of accompanying mandates.

All of that history doesn't mean he's always wrong - it's just that I will not pay much attention to what he has to say.

"All of that history..."

And not a single mention of the most important fact of all: Dick Cheney, more than any other, is responsible for reseting America's fiscal sights from surpluses to deficits.

How can you call the 300 lb gash who hid behind Melanoma's bolt-ons in the White House bunker a coward?

When people end up supporting lying war criminals against lying treasonous criminals it's time for a new country. Or at least for the old country to fall completely apart.

Both Cheney and Trump should be in jail... in a cell on the same lower level (or perhaps even lower) as Hannibal Lecter and Multiple Miggs.

@#12 ... Sorry - I don't place a whole lot of stock into what Dick Cheney has to say. ...

Nor do I.

But all the objections your comment raises are political things.

Yep, I do disagree with fmr VP Cheney and even Rep Cheney on political issues. [understatement]

But that is not the point here, as much as your alias tries to pull it down to that level.

The issue here is our Republic and the Constitutional rule of law and order.

It is a shame that your current alias seems not only to be unable to understand that, but constantly seems to try to deflect away from that core issue.

You cannot expect "law and order" from citizens back home when the government that represents those citizens flaunts both law and order abroad.

Your comment seems to attempt to conflate two quite separate and distinct spheres of operation.

Is your comment asserting that the laws that govern me here in my town are appropriate and applicable for the good citizens of, say, France?

Its funny how such a ferociously independent "alpha male" is such a predictable puppet for a giant POS like Trump.

It's almost as if he's just a bird of that feather flocking with the rest of the deplorable, worthless trash that populates the low population density, tax dollar sucking dead weight this country is full of.

They didn't choose the current one, did they?

I live in the Midwest but one of those pesky blue dots that is the economic and cultural driver of the state I live in. The deep red rural areas of my state are exactly what I said-a millstone around our collective necks.

#26 | Posted by jpw at 2022-08-06 05:48 PM | Reply

A great example-when voters in my state voted to approve medicaide expansion a year or two ago, the GOP legislature refused to fund it, giving the GOP governor cover to refuse to implement it. One of the legislators outright said they were doing what was right for the voters of the state who didn't have the ability to decide that on their own.

And the voters of the state just nominated the AG who supported the legislature doing this for the November US Senate election.

A state party openly refusing to do the will of the voters driven largely by the yokel vote of backwards, economically depressed miserable white folks who contribute the least to the state.

stock into what Dick Cheney has to say
I got over my hatred of the man after he got drunk and shot that lawyer in the face. Clearly he cant be all bad.
At this point, being mostly composed of pig parts and the best defibrillators Bethesda has to offer, he's like a ship of Theseus. Is he even the same man?

Liz is gonna get creamed, though. 22 points down. In any have decent society it would championed as a noble sacrifice to put your country ahead of your career. Instead Republicans mock her, which tells you everything you need to know about Republicans.
