The New York Times @nytimes Thousands of migrants have been arriving in Washington, D.C., on buses sent by the governors of Texas and Arizona. With nonprofits and volunteer groups overwhelmed, many have ended up in homeless shelters and on the streets.

Yeah, it is a shame that the Governor of Texas is exploiting human beings for pure political purposes.

This from a state that had seemed to assert it values the life of a human being.

How low will Gov Abbott stoop?

That's some twisted logic, dude.

Of course, this is from a party that had espoused the forced separation of children from their parents.

So maybe, cruelty is to be expected from this party.

#3 Do you realize how much cruelty is baked into illegal immigration? Human, sex and drug trafficking runs rampant. The journey alone can be dangerous simply due to exposure to the elements. If you look at the illegal immigration numbers in 2019 and 2020 (even with those "cruel" measures) and compare the numbers against 2021 and 2022 so far, WAY more human suffering has occurred since Biden mostly opened the border with his policies and "enforcement".

@#4 ... Do you realize how much cruelty is baked into illegal immigration? ...

Yes, I do. But that is a whole different topic than the cruelty of Gov Abbott, a leader of a great state in the Country, exploiting those people.

If you really want to discuss cruelty is baked into illegal immigration, start a different thread.

But for now the topic of this thread that you posted is the cruelty of Gov Abbott.

The cruelty is using human beings as political fodder, as Gov Abbott is doing.

So 44 migrants dying due from heat in a semi-trailer is just the cost of doing business?

DC and NYC mayors complaining about Texas is avoiding the problem, Biden administration should pay every locality that takes in an undocumented immigrant.

As I have continually stated.

Enter at a PoE, get a card authorizing you to work, and be a citizen of the country in two years or so. Commit any crimes and you are gone.

The fact that everyone coming over the border undocumented can't legally work or vote is a travesty and IMO, its up to the Federal government to pay the localities for each and every migrant they take in. But Biden, Mayors and the likes of Gaslighter and Bellringer want to play political football with these poor souls.

Oh, I agree.

So why do corporations and companies continue to hire them?

An excerpt from the Border Patrol Union webpage that was deleted during fmr Pres Trump's term:
web.archive.org

  • Walls and fences are temporary solutions that focus on the symptom (illegal immigration) rather than the problem (employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens).

  • Walls and fences are only a speed bump. People who want to come to the United States to obtain employment will continue to go over, under, and around the walls and fences that are constructed.

  • Walls and fences will undoubtedly result in an increase in fraudulent documents and smuggling through the Ports of Entry.

  • Walls and fences do not solve the issue of people entering the country legally and staying beyond the date they are required to leave the country, a problem which will undoubtedly increase as more walls and fences are constructed.

They don't see the daily alerts from the County Sheriffs Departments about the latest bailout causing a school lockdown, the high speed chases through town, the break-ins, the property destruction, the trash, the discovery of bloated dead bodies by housewives when they go out to feed the goats. It happens every ------- day---Carrizo, Crystal City, Uvalde, Rocksprings, Cotulla, Falfurrias, etc.

I can't travel back home anymore without being randomly pulled over by DPS because the kids they rotate through there assume any unfamiliar truck in town with tinted windows is stolen and being used by Coyotes. (Thank God they've unofficially quit enforcing the open container law.)

In the old days, you had mostly rural wet Meskins crossing over who had a modicum of common sense and could get to their destination without dying in the desert.

Today, it's a bunch of dumbasses from the slums of Tegucigalpa or San Salvador. The don't understand what a cow trail means---and how it leads to a windmill, thus water for drinking and actual trees for shade. They have no clue. So they die out on a flat somewhere because they follow a compass heading instead of the land. You find the bones and then call the Sheriff's Office and Border Patrol.

    So good stuff.

Bus these ------- wretches to the political jurisdictions that encourage their arrival--and prevent resources from being deployed to stop them.

Watch how quickly the tune changes.

Illegal entry should be shunned - the very first act upon coming into this country is a violation of law - a criminal act.

What we are experiencing now is an attack on our sovereignty - on our border. It's facilitated, encouraged and manufactured by the left and the Democratic Party.

I can't stand Donald Trump, but prior to him this was something that the GOP was almost equally complicit. George W Bush was almost indistinguishable from Barrack H Obama when it came to this issue. Bush got pushback from a 'vigilante' group that called themselves "The Minutemen". They were very much like "Neighborhood Watch" (for those of us who are old enough to remember that little organization). As much as I don't want Trump to run again, on this issue he really did move the needle on the political spectrum. Most people abhor illegal immigration. After acknowledging the human suffering that comes with it and how it's proportional to numbers, with lax enforcement it's a stain on our rule of law and it's a HUGE slap in the face to anyone who went through the process of attaining legal residence.

Much of what Biden has done as president appears to have involved abandoning common sense and doing whatever it takes to placate the left flank of the party.

Think about this...the Keystone Pipeline. A cost-effective, clean mechanism to move oil from point A to point B. Biden shut it down.

But the oil is still going to move...but now it's going to move via truck and train, which themselves require oil in order to make that transfer possible.

Who knows...maybe the oil companies paid off Biden to sabotage the Keystone Pipeline becuase it would make them more money?

But from a rational perspective, cancelling Keystone made zero sense. Unless you were going to profit off of the cancellation.

"Are you saying that's a bigger risk than the risk posed by the 4,150 trucks that will now carry that oil since it's not going through pipes?"

You're looking at aggregate risk, and by that measure, surely 4,150 trucks will probably be involved in more adverse events than 1 pipeline.

But what you're ignoring is that you won't ever see all 4,150 trucks crash all at once. Whereas the pipeline could give you the equivalent of that.

Seems reasonable, why are those cities complaining?

BECAUSE Job Biden is not sending money so those cities can do so properly.

"This is a real burden on New Yorkers as we are trying to do the right thing. We already have an overburden shelter system, so now we are talking about as you stated: food, clothing, school. This is going to impact our schools because we do not turn away individuals because they are undocumented. There is just a whole host of things, that this is going to produce and that's why we need help in getting this done and the right coordination."

Why do you say that? The federal government has jurisdiction over international borders. If there is a mess it is the responsibility of the federal government, its not complicated, its just Dem Mayors can't point the finger at Biden.

Biden needs to cough up the funds for every immigrant that crossed the border, they can't legally work so how else are these cities across America going to deal with this unemployment.

They will be able to, once the sanctuary cities they're in start processing them.

Deportation is one of the most common immigration proceedings that non-citizens can face. Illegal immigrants can be deported (removed) when they no longer have the authority to remain in the country due to expired visas, illegal entry, and other violations.

Show me the section where it says Texas is prohibited from deporting people who enter illegally.

Did Biden send Abbot money for the immigrants?

    Read my other posts ...

The Federal government has jurisdiction over the border. IF Biden sent money to Texas for the immigrants arriving in Texas, then Abbot wouldn't need to send them to DC to live a better life as you stated.

Abbot is sending them to DC because they are out of money to deal with immigrants that legally can't work. Open borders is the only solution.

Its not complicated, unless you are stuck in tribalism, which you seem to be.

    Why can't Abbott provide sanctuary?

Why is it Abbotts to provide? Why can't Biden provide it? The Federal government should make everyone legal that crosses the border at PoE.

If everyone was legal it wouldn't be necessary.

    Again it's not complicated.

#OpenBorders its logical, rational and its what American needs now.

Doesn't this make Abott a human trafficer?

Not technically, because Abbott asks them if they want to go. He's not forcing them like the Biden administration does on its flights in the middle of the night. The immigrant wears a wrist band saying where the Coyotes must take the immigrant (thats what they are paid for), and the Biden administration then sends them on the last leg of their journey.

Whats strange to me is why do the Lumpers want to create second class citizens?

The Lumpers here go on and on about how "horrible" the treatment is, but then don't mind that they can't work legally, they can't vote legally.

Again why do Lumpers like Snoofy, and Truthless want a caste system in the US? Is it to clean your toilets and pay them less than min wage?

Give immigrants dignity of coming here; open the borders and grant them with work authorizations and the ability to vote.

Anything less is creating a caste system.

No, those are ranchers, do you not have any idea what we are talking about.

The Federal Government knows how many crossed the border. The Federal Government should be sending a monthly stipend to Texas to pay for housing, food, clothing for the immigrants that remain in Texas, the stipend would follow the immigrant where ever they go.

Why are illegal immigrants Abbots to provide?

Because he's out of money, and DC has plenty, he knows its a sanctuary city and they will be safe.

"Give immigrants dignity of coming here; open the borders and grant them with work authorizations and the ability to vote."

If immigrants have the right to work, they're far less likely to support progressive policy. They can take care of themselves.

This is a long-game effort. Make sure they eventually have the right to vote, but do everything you can to make sure they are still dependent on government.

I agree with you. The residence card without citizenship should be an easy thing to attain. Many progressives appear to believe that illegals should be granted some sort of streamlines pathway to citizenship.
