WTF???

Lowering drug prices was going to be the part of this bill that everyone was going to enjoy the most.

You've got to be a special kind of ------- to vote against affordable insulin.

Hopefully a Republican can tell us how this affects inflation. Or how insulin got so inflated in the first place.

Every Republican politician and voter should be forced to explain why they want to make life harder for diabetics.

Insulin should be covered entirely, like Flu shots and COVID shots.

"Every Republican politician and voter should be forced to explain why they want to make life harder for diabetics."

How many Republicans will actually come out and say they support this?

Probably less than one.

The price of insulin has skyrocketed almost 10 fold since the ACA. Nothing proposed lowers the costs. This just shifts the cost to the insurance company and all of us. Democrats have to keep the grift going to their paymasters.

Why?

And why is AMERICAN MADE insulin sold all over the world for a fraction of what it costs an American to buy? The ACA has nothing to do with that.

Chuck Grassley says he voted for insulin reduction " but videos show him voting 'no'

Grassley is every bit as demented as Dotard.

The GOP forwarded an alternative amendment during vote-a-rama that would have also lowered insulin prices, but it contained the usual GOP BS along with it, so it was voted down.

That's what Grassley is referring to, not the Democrat amendment which was also voted down.

#14 - He did not vote to cap the price but the GOP supported an amendment from Louisiana Senator John Kennedy to instead provide government funding to subsidize insulin purchases for low income individuals.

So, the Big Pharma can keep charging that amount and the Tax Payers have to pay for it. Now how is that a solution??????

What did Neil Young say about the GOP in that song of his?
Oh yeah...

"We got a thousand points of light
For the homeless man
We got a kinder,
gentler machine gun hand"...

That is LITERALLY today's GOP...

The importance of insurance coverage in promoting access is further documented in Exhibit 6, which describes how affordability has changed over time. Although insulin prices increased rapidly between 2007 and 2017, the Affordable Care Act's (ACA's) coverage expansions have reduced the share of those with diabetes in each income group who report difficulty affording prescription drugs. The greatest declines have been among people with incomes between 100 percent and 300 percent of the federal poverty level who have benefited from the ACA's marketplace-based coverage expansions. In 2017, 45 percent of those with diabetes who reported that they could not afford prescription drugs lived in the South, where many states had not yet expanded Medicaid.

Waiting for VISITOR's retort containing backup links, especially considering the ACA was not signed into law until 2010. IOW, insulin prices were significantly rising for 3 years prior to the variable VISITOR chose to focus on as a trigger to price increases.

Affordable health care is not a right to Republicans. Because it ain't in the constitution. They think sick people should have been born healthier.
