Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

My pointing out monkey pox is a gay problem is liberalism. In fact pretending like it doesn't primarily threaten the gay community is anti-homosexual willfully ignorant and a sign of people who don't care if gay men die.

7,000 cases in the U.S.
Oh, the humanity.

#3 doesn't understand exponential growth. We've learned nothing in the last 3 years.

I remember how fast AIDS spread.

And you had to have full blown sex to contract that.

#5

Lots of unprotected sex and intravenous drug use/sharing of needles back then.

You must have been stuck in between the sheets during that time.

Understandable, considering your naivete.

'I remember how fast AIDS spread."

I remember how righteous conservatives were because G-d had sent a Gay Plague to kill them all.

On January 22, Trump received his first public question from a reporter regarding whether he was concerned about the coronavirus. Trump responded: "No, not at all. And we have it totally under control. It's one person coming in from China ... It's going to be just fine."[4]

You're actually comparing an air-borne virus to this? Ffs. Drama.

Also, AIDS didn't give you weeping sores weeks after infection. Again, drama.

I'm saying 7000 cases? Those are rookie numbers.

Let's meet again next year. Hopefully you're right and I'm wrong.

True, it took months and years before Kaposi or something else got you.

For those that were too strung out on drugs in the 90s to understand what was going on AIDS was the number one killer of men one year.

Monkeypox can spread from person to person through direct contact with the infectious rash, scabs, or body fluids. It also can be spread by respiratory secretions during prolonged, face-to-face contact, or during intimate physical contact, such as kissing, cuddling, or sex.

Monkeypox can spread from the time symptoms start until the rash has fully healed and a fresh layer of skin has formed. Anyone in close personal contact with a person with monkeypox can get it and should take steps to protect themselves.

Seems less like HIV and more like herpes.

Good luck out there.

That's more than enough talk about Steve Bannon.

I'm going to assume that you were simply misinformed, posting incorrect information, rather than intentionally overstating because you have an axe to grind.

"In 1992, HIV infection became the number one cause of death among men aged 25-44 years."

Re 15.

At least now we know what happened to dirty Steve's pockmarked face.

Is it really a shock that people under a certain age and over a certain age weren't getting AIDS at the same rate as people between the age of 25 and 44?

#18 | Posted by Tor at 2022-08-09 10:32 PM | Reply

The deaths from HIV went steadily up, year over year, until the first antivirals were developed.

The fact that we still don't have a vaccine for HIV, 40 years later, should make anyone shiver.

"we still don't have a vaccine for HIV"

IIRC governments all around the world have contributed money and research and starting with Raygun the amount spent only went up.

It really is a hard virus to fight thanks to it's mutation rate.
