What does stochastic terrorism mean?

Stochastic terrorism is "the public demonization of a person or group resulting in the incitement of a violent act, which is statistically probable but whose specifics cannot be predicted."

The word stochastic, in everyday language, means "random." Terrorism, here, refers to "violence motivated by ideology."

Here's the idea behind stochastic terrorism:

A leader or organization uses rhetoric in the mass media against a group of people.
This rhetoric, while hostile or hateful, doesn't explicitly tell someone to carry out an act of violence against that group, but a person, feeling threatened, is motivated to do so as a result.
That individual act of political violence can't be predicted as such, but that violence will happen is much more probable thanks to the rhetoric.
This rhetoric is thus called stochastic terrorism because of the way it incites random violence.

So a gunman gets into a shoutout with LEO's after trying to storm the FBI building.

The GQP approves this message.

Their rallying around and repeating the lies about "planted evidence" and "they're coming for you next" has had the desired effect. They aim to stifle any attempt of enforcing laws on their protected few through terrorism. Blatant terrorism broadcast on Fox Entertainment.

When charges are handed down on dotard, all hell will break loose.

The GQP goal is scare everyone into not exposing the criminal acts of dear leader and holding him accountable for them. Every single one of them screeching on social media and television need to be held accountable for the resulting violence.

I read today about a string of 4 murders of Muslims living in the US. Of course the usual woke allegations started to fly. The man authorities now have in custody is also a Muslim and appears to have known his victims.

Oh, you mean like the fully legal process of executing a search warrant based on the testimony of a credible witness and then blindly and without a single iota of evidence claim that the entire DOJ is corrupted and just like Nazi Germany or the worst banana republic in history and should be disbanded, defunded, or subjected to 2nd Amendment remedies?

Any imbecile with firing neurons can draw a straight line from those bombastic, anti-American lies and an unbalanced sycophant wielding a nail gun and long rifle against an FBI field office and exchanging gunfire with LEOs, and see the direct-line connection between the two events.

Lock and load? Yeah, he locked and loaded, then unlocked and unloaded on innocent government personnel who had nothing to do with the events in MAL.

So it was in fact the LEFT that has been flooding the airwaves the last 48 hours saying the FBI is COMING FOR THEM and that THE FBI PLANTED EVIDENCE.

Got it.

How dare OBAMA do this eh Jeff?

The very fact that a Trump appointed FBI director saw an urgent NEED to apply for a warrant that went before a Trump appointed judge to search and seize US government property at a private residence of a former president knowing full well the GQP Klown Kar would go ---- up full conspiracy mode afterwards meant that they had damn well was an URGENT need to do this and that every i was dotted and every t was crossed. The facts of the case, the rationale, the reasoning behind it are included in the subpoena, a document that dotard and his lawyers have and could release at ANY time to prove how he was wronged, yet they don't. WHy is that Jeff? Why doesn't he release it?

When they left the FBI left with them a list of everything seized in the search with dotards lawyers. Why hasn't dotard released that?

Because it proves his guilt in the matter. The truth will come out.

Right now the GQP Klown Kar is hyperventilating on TV, rousing up the deplorables without a thought in the world of the real world lives that they are putting in danger. Dotard demands that they go on TV with their lies about planted evidence, because that is what a crime boss does. He sends out his capos to muddy up the waters and intimidate law enforcement.

The only reason you didn't witness any condemnation is because you didn't bother to look for any so that you could make such an ignorant point over and over.

Fact check: Democrats have condemned violence linked to BLM, anti-fascist protests - www.usatoday.com

Myron B. Pitts: 8 times Biden, Obama and others condemned Black Lives Matter violence - www.fayobserver.com

Democratic leaders clash with Black Lives Matter activists - www.nbcnews.com

Quotes by 4 Democrats twisted to make it look like they endorsed riots - www.politifact.com

Biden condemns Kenosha violence and rebuts Trump's law and order' message - www.cnbc.com

How many times has Trump condemned the violence on 1/6 after his forced statement on 1/7? You continually rail against a strawman you call the left. You never post a link to examples, you just think that everyone buys your -------- because you and other gullible, weak minded people do. I don't think on the extremes and I'd be a hypocrite if I criticized one without feeling equally about the other. That's how the posters here roll. No wants wants anyone to suffer negatively regardless of party. But morons like you do make it hard not to cheer on karma to more frequently visit the ignorant, immoral and obtuse.

I've never cheered on violence, and I don't think anyone whom you consider "left" does. We don't post threads indicating it, but we do point out truths, one of which is that white agitators did instigate many crimes and misdeeds, trying to create the very impression those like you hold. And ignoring that the marches were almost 100% peaceful, and just like any bar district, after nightfall a subset of a different crowd with a different vibe showed up not to protest, but to commit acts of violence and vandalism. Most people who see people for who they are know this. Some only see people standing in lines and don't even try differentiate when the composition of the crowd changes to include those who are vandals and arsonists.

The reason we lefties don't feel the need to continually say this over and over when idiots invoke the 2020 vandalism and rioting is quite simple: It's common human decency and respect for others and their property to be against that which is wrong or illegal.

One of your likely icons in congress, Rep Jayapal just this week lamented the "murder" (her words) of Michael Brown of the "hands up don't shoot" era.

Just this week. A member of the squad categorized the anniversary of Brown's killing as a "murder".

It isn't "obsession" to discuss a corrupt POTUS who stole highly sensitive documents, refused to return them when subpoenaed and is trying to turn his base against the FBI for retrieving them by completely legal, justified means.

Nor is it "obsession" to discuss that corrupt, treasonous piece of ----- constant debasing of this country by maintaining the spotlight and control over the GOP.

But you know that. You don't actually think it's obsession. You're just too spinless to admit your support of him and the implications of that admission and what it says about your lack of character.

I don't want him to run again. Period. I believe Democrats and leftists absolutely want him to run again because they are turning him into a martyr. We've seen this play out in the GOP primaries these past few weeks. Dems have been pumping money into the campaigns of MAGA types because they believe those candidates have a lesser chance of winning in the midterm.

I really do view all of this as 4-D chess - make Trump into SUCH a victim that the GOP base rallies behind the candidate on the 2024 GOP ballot with the lowest ceiling of votes.

#100 What Hillary did was use an open server for her email communications where she transmitted the highest of classified information over a completely unsecured server. A cut and dry felony. Further, under the Records Act (the justification for raiding Trump's home) she and her staff destroyed devices and utilized Bleach Bit to permanently destroy over 30,000 emails that fall under the same Records Act. She and her cronies were punished with immunity.

You cheered all of that ---- and it was far more egregious than what we've been teased thus far regarding this raid

--------------- again. Can you tell the truth about anything?

In 2014, Clinton's lawyers combed through the private server and turned over about 30,000 work-related emails to the State Department and deleted the rest, which Clinton said involved personal matters, such as her daughter's wedding plans.

Clinton repeatedly said she did not have any classified emails on her server, but the results of an FBI investigation found otherwise.

Of the tens of thousands of emails investigators reviewed, 113 contained classified information, and three of those had classification markers. Former FBI Director James Comey said in 2016 that Clinton should have known that some of the 113 were classified, but others she might have understandably missed. In a sign of the uncertainty around classification, in 2018, a Justice Department report found that the classification markings were not clear.

A key difference between the two

Bradley Moss, a Washington-based lawyer who works on national security cases, said the cases of Clinton and Trump are significantly different.

"Trump took properly marked hard copy classified documents from the White House, shipped them to Florida, and stored them in an unsecured location at his residence," Moss said.

The presence of classified information in Clinton's emails was less obvious.

"The e-mails were never marked as classified because these were communications from unclassified government accounts," Moss said.

In three instances, email chains included information with classification markers. It was never clear that Clinton was aware of the presence of that marked information, or if the classification marking was clear.

Any fecking moron can read the above and see that Hillary Clinton never had any intention of putting classified information at risk of exposure to those who shouldn't see it. Donald Trump might very well have been in possession of SAP level information some of his closest "friends" would pay a fortune for - or perhaps did pay $2 billion to his son-in-law to either gain access or keep damning information squirreled away but still handy should he need it for a transaction or leverage. But it's not like a whistleblower accused Trump of trying to give Saudi Arabia - read MBS - US nuclear technology back in 2019 or anything either.

Yeah, Hillary's is exponentially worse. You live in a fantasy land existing off the smell of your own farts.

Classified documents relating to nuclear weapons were among the items FBI agents sought in a search of former president Donald Trump's Florida residence on Monday, according to people familiar with the investigation.

Experts in classified information said the unusual search underscores deep concern among government officials about the types of information they thought could be located at Trump's Mar-a-Lago Club and potentially in danger of falling into the wrong hands.

Too late. The handoff was done at the LIV tournament. $2,000,000,000 buys a lot of nuclear secrets. Vanky and Jared are set for life now thanks to dotards treason.

When the DOJ sends a subpoena to return ALL documents in his possession and he returns ONLY SOME of the documents....that proves INTENT to break the law. That is why all his cabal of goons took to the airwaves to scream "evidence was planted" after they went to NY and kissed his ring.

You know who screams about evidence being planted? Guilty people.

Sames as people who refuse to testify.

Same as people who take the fifth.

Same as people who order subordinates to ignore subpoenas.

Same as people who refuse to provide the "evidence" that would exonerate them.

#119. That's a fair question. The answer is when the FBI can show the raid was legit. The FBI has earned scorn, derision and a ton of skepticism given how it's conducted itself over the past few years.

Maybe this time is different. Maybe this is legit. Having said that the bureau better have really strong evidence to believe that some of the documents Trump possessed were incredibly vital that necessitated raiding his home. This move is unprecedented and a routine document preservation dispute never should have triggered this if that is all it was. That is banana republic territory if that's the case.

I do agree that it's terribly irresponsible to preemptively accuse the FBI of planting evidence.

You are doing the same thing as the people are you are pretending to criticize. You are besmirching the agency's reputation and lying about the nature of the investigation. Routine? This has never been a routine document preservation dispute. If this was a routine dispute then it wouldn't had resulted in the National Archives making a criminal referral. Here's the list of their past investigations. Show me where it is routine for them to make criminal referrals.
www.archives.gov

Trump could have returned the records when the National Archives first contacted him. In fact he did return some which contained classified information. That is why the referral occurred in the first place. We already know Trump was in violation of the law, whether or not it was criminal is of question, thus the DOJ investigation. Trump could have returned the remaining materials when he received the grand jury subpoena this past spring. He could have returned them when federal agents visited Maralago at some point after that. Trump was given chance after chance to avoid this and still retained the records that had to be obtained via warrant.
Now Trump has painted himself into a corner by telling the world about the raid. Garland called his bluff by asking the court to unseal the warrant. Trump says he supports the move to release them but we don't know what Trump's lawyers are doing behind the scenes. I mean Trump also said he supported released his tax returns while he has fought relentlessly to keep them private. If the warrant and the receipts are unsealed then we will see very soon at just how wrong you and all of these GOP mouthpieces spreading baseless allegations have been.

Yeah, you definitely weren't comparing a shooting to a shooting. You were totally comparing a shooting to...the execution of a search warrant

Pathetic

A whole lot of the stuff Trumpers are spouting could be quoted nearly verbatim from Timothy McVeigh's manifesto and letter to Fox News, justification for bombing the Murrah Federal Bldg in Oklahoma City.

I was urging caution about jumping to conclusions too quickly regarding the FBI shooter. As it turns out, those conclusions (that he was a Trumper) were indeed accurate.

"I was urging caution about jumping to conclusions too quickly ... "

Too bad you don't tell that the the people who need to hear it. Like your foxholed brethren.

" As it turns out, those conclusions (that he was a Trumper) were indeed accurate."

Indeed. As it turns out it was obvious from the start to anyone with half a brain and a little common sense.

You were deflecting from the obvious. Just as you have been attempting to do so with regard to the serving of the search warrant. And now that warrant and receipts are public we know what was also obvious before hand. It wasn't a routine dispute. Donald Trump defied a subpoena and continued to hold on to highly classified materials and put the nation at risk. He's long been a lying, reckless individual who doesn't care about anyone but himself. I hope the people who were so blind that they can't see what has been right in front of their face since he came down that elevator in 2015 will see him for what he and see themselves for what they are.

Trump treated state secrets like a gift bag at one of his empty golf tournaments. You either want a state or you want an ego. Pick one!

#162 Keep hoping. These people are unreachable and there will always be another excuse.
