Twitter: The Civic Integrity Policy covers the most common types of harmful misleading information about elections and civic events, such as: claims about how to participate in a civic process like how to vote, misleading content intended to intimidate or dissuade people from participating in the election, and misleading claims intended to undermine public confidence in an election - including false information about the outcome of the election. Tweets with this content may be labeled with links to credible information or helpful context, and Twitter will not recommend or amplify this content in areas of the product where Twitter makes recommendations. People on Twitter will see a prompt prior to liking or sharing labeled tweets, and in cases where there is potential for harm associated with the false or misleading claim, the Tweet may not be liked or shared to prevent the spread of the misleading information.

More from the article...

...The CIP, first enacted in 2018, "covers the most common types of harmful misleading information about elections and civic events," the social media company said in a statement regarding the policy changes.

As part of its efforts to flag disinformation, Twitter plans to label tweets as inaccurate, remove certain content from recommendations, and prevent tweets labeled as misleading or false from being liked or shared - among other measures.

The CIP has previously been applied to elections around the world, including in the Philippines, Kenya, Brazil, and India in the past year, Twitter said. "Today, as we do ahead of other global elections, we're activating enforcement of our Civic Integrity Policy for the 2022 US midterms," Twitter said.

It isn't clear whether Twitter has enacted the CIP in full for prior US elections. We've asked about Twitter's wider use of the policy, but haven't heard back....

It's going to act as a propaganda platform for the DNC.

@#2 ... It's going to act as a propaganda platform for the DNC. ...

I can see why you might think that, i.e., with Twitter not allowing lies and misinformation, the Republicans will have scarce little to say on the platform.

You're a fricking tool if you believe Democrats don't lie and when they do Twitter won't do anything about it.

@#4 ... You're a fricking tool if you believe Democrats don't lie ...

Not nearly to the extent that the Republicans have been lying in recent years (I'd say orders of magnitude less), and have weaponized that lying to encourage Republican supporters to commit horrible acts of violence.

That's probably because Twitter only objects to Republican malcontents using their platform as a message board, specifically to promote un-American, illegal subversive activities.

That's why Trump's account got deleted.

Did the same thing happen to you?

"(Lying is) why Trump's account got deleted. Did the same thing happen to you?"

BellRinger sure is worried about liars being held to account.

Gee...I wonder why?

You can always surmise, when they start wringing their hands in despair.

Funny how not allowing people to lie means you think it advantages democrats.

What's that say about your party?

"You're a fricking tool if you believe Democrats don't lie.. "

Everyone gets taken in by a lie from time to time.

But you and your fellow deplorables are "fricking tools" for believing the ridiculous and outrageous and even treasonous lies that republicans (backed by FoxProp) are currently feeding you.

I think most of this will be controlled by bots scrubbing for trigger words. I admit Twitter sucks with it's moderation policy but Reddit is the absolute ------- of them all. They just shadowban you so you think the post is visible to everyone when it's actually only visible to you. But it's what I expect from the dishonest culture of the Chinese.
