Andrew is trying to play the Jill Stein role for 2024. Eff him.

He has become a professional fence sitter.

"moderate, common-sense majority."

From the guy promising no-bid contracts to Tesla for products they can't make.

Acosta grilled him. Unfortunately Yang is an easy target. I'd like to see more prominent politicians interviewed in the same manner.

" I'd like to see more prominent politicians interviewed in the same manner."

So would I. However Dem pols, especially establishment Dems are treated almost exclusively to cream puff softball questions when interviewed. That's why they always have that deer in the headlights look when a member of the press slips in a tough question on a very rare occasion. It's completely unexpected.

#4 Is there a single topic on which you feel Republicans are not aggrieved?

"I'd like to see more prominent politicians interviewed in the same manner."

That jeopardizes access. Americans are more favorable to a news org getting interviews than expecting those interviews to be hard hitting. It appeals to our sense of who we are as a country. So losing access for asking tough questions is a non starter.

Here's Acosta interviewing Sam Donaldson, who compares Trump to Al Capone and decimates his politician supporters.

Liked Yang as a Dem candidate, not as a third party spoiler who could throw the election to the neocons or the Trumpers.

Hahahahahahahahaha

You misspelled "Republican pols" it's not spelled "Dem pols."

But I'll throw you a bone...how about you provide a few links to those softball interview questions...what outlets/shows/sources are you basing this ridiculous take on?

They should just follow the republican strategy of saying any question they dont want to address is fake news being spouted by the enemy of the people.

Lost all respect for Yang. Did someone buy him off?

We need new parties even if they stink. The binary choice is beyond lame.

(CHOOSE)

It's more like he's a narcissist who hates being rejected. He's apparently too good to try a run for Congress or the Senate or city council or the school board, so now that the political tourist has been denied in two consecutive Democratic primaries, in a futile effort to create a middle-of-the-road party, he will possibly doom democracy.

While I would like to see a truly moderate 3rd party, there's too many extremist who want it their way or else for that party to succeed presently. I'm also a liberal that is not sure a universal income is actually possible in a capitalistic environment.

Andrew Yang/Jill Stein 2024!

Completely ridiculous.

We already have a center-right party, the Democratic party. What we don't have is any party on the left.

Would I love to see a functional left like a Socialist party and a Green party? Of course. But first we would have to fix our broken elections that only really allow for two parties, and right now those parties are the center-right Democrats and the extremist right wing Republicans.

The only other alternative is to utterly destroy the Republicans by voting for nothing but Democrats for years so that a new leftist party can emerge as the second party.

A moderate party already exists in America, they're called the Democrats. An extreme right party exists (Republicans); if there even is an extreme left party they're called the Greens.

There are plenty of moderates in that party. But unfortunately, a bunch of left-wing extremists also claim said party as their own.

Such as anyone who refers to themselves as a socialist. Especially when they're bigger capitalists than those on the right.

Why do you think they do that? Maybe just to be contrarian?

yeah but left wing extremists dont control the party. They're shunned, ignored, and have no power. Unlike republicans, where anyone NOT extremist is driven out of the party and all the power is in the hands of morons and racists who want to end democracy since they can't win fair elections.

And yet in a presidential primary, the party as a whole chose the rightmost politician with a D after his name.

And he won.

And he just signed into law a 15 percent min tax on big corps... among several other progressive policies.

Why do you think they do that?
After Lenin took control the first thing he did was send his top lieutenants to form or take over rival leftist parties. Basically all the political parties were some form of what we would consider leftists, and these guys switched back and forth all the time. He would run the country as a centrist and they would try to nudge the ship of state left. At least that was the plan. In effect they just choked out actual dissent and the whole thing devolved into one party rule.

I think we had something similar. The republicans would govern as centrist (somehow even when Ds had control of Congress and the White House) and the Democrats would make sure no leftist movement would ever have enough oxygen to breathe. Constantly nudging us right.

Say what you will about the Democrats but it is truly a big tent. Civil Rights activists alongside former members of the KKK, Socialists and Dixiecrats together at fundraisers, hijab muslims and evangelical christians. Everyone is welcome!
The Democrats have held up their end. No leftist party exists, the "extremists" are all back benchers and often literal eye candy. Who was the last true lefty to emerge? What did the party do to his campaign?

It's the Republicans that have upset the balance. They stopped governing as centrists. They let the actual lunatics take over the asylum sometime around Nixon. And now the only thing standing in their way are feckless buffoons like Chuck Shumer and Bennie Thompson.
