"Individuals on the calls have publicly suggested that Senator Graham was not simply engaged in legislative factfinding but was instead suggesting or implying that Georgia election officials change their processes or otherwise potentially alter the state's results," May wrote.

May ordered Graham to appear as a witness before the special grand jury on Aug. 23."

May the pearl clutching begin!

"suggesting or implying that Georgia election officials change their processes or otherwise potentially alter the state's results,"

Kind of like how some were pushing to alter the results in Florida in 2000 by changing the processes of how the votes were counted after they were cast. I call BS on both, so I'm consistent on this... unlike many of you here.

What else did you expect?

Doesn't change a single fnkcin' thing. So why bother?

From the cited article...

...Graham's office said in a statement Monday that he will appeal the ruling.

"Senator Graham was doing his due diligence before the Electoral Count Act certification vote -- where he voted to certify the election," Graham's office said....

Wait, what?

Sen Graham stated that his due diligence to certify the vote includes him apparently trying to affect the process tallying those votes?

That's like a ref in a boxing match telling one of the boxers that his opponent has a glass jaw.

Honestly, I cannot understand the rationale for Sen Graham's office putting out that statement.

It seems to me to be an admission of ~tampering in an election~ guilt.

What have I missed here?

How come he has to be forced to testify? Isn't he eager to go under oath and the world how innocent he is?

These treasonous cowards don't like to be under oath.

Too hard to lie properly about how he was supposedly just doing his job with "due diligence" while trying to actually influence and change the outcome of the vote.

It's going to be difficult for Ms Lindsey to lie because there were numerous witnesses to the call.

He knows damn well that he has to take the fifth, which I heard is something that guilty people do.

Now me thinks you were just lying about being consistent. No reason to believe you in the first place. You calling out folks for being inconsistent without being specific makes a significant reason NOT to believe you.

Swallow it.

"So why bother?"

I'm surprised that you don't know. It's been S.O.P. for many years.

Graham's testimony, scant as it is, will be referred to the real grand jury in Atlanta who will also indict based on the testimony of others with first hand knowledge. Then he'll be arrested and forced to hire very expensive defense attorneys. At some point he'll be offered an opportunity to accept a plea deal that will lead to the conviction of Donald Trump ~~ and, depending upon his cooperation, he might be able to avoid a prison sentence for himself. The choice will be his. When the rubber meets the road, we'll see just how far he'll go to protect Trump's own freefall to conviction in both state and federal court.
So why bother? They "bother" because Graham is just one of the dupes the legal system uses to reach another, higher goal.

Only guilty people refuse to testify.

Yonder come Miss Lindsey
How in the world did you know?
By the way she wears her apron
And the clothes she wore
Umbrella on her shoulder
Piece of paper in her hand
She come to see the gov'nor
She want to free her man, oh
Let the Midnight Special shine a light on me

Twin-Miss Lindsey is one of the worst political weather-vanes I've seen in my 70+ years. If things go down as you predict, he will choose to save himself. And do the rest of he nation a huge favor.

Lady G will get the vapors and be unable to testify.
