Former U.S. President Donald Trump's team may not have returned all the classified records removed from the White House at the end of his presidency even after an FBI search of his home, U.S. prosecutors warned on Thursday ...

What are Putin's interests, what would he pay to learn? What Ukraine has in the way of armaments, what the US will do if he helps China invade Taiwan?

No one should wonder.

Trump will never forgive the United States for his loss in 2020.

Those documents are wherever best to scratch his need for revenge.

Michael Cohen, Trump's former long time lawyer and Mr. Fixit, is of the opinion that once Trump knew the FBI was onto him, he socked away some documents with the intent of using them to blackmail the DOJ out of prosecuting him.

I'm guessing it's more of an Israel thang. For all we know, Trump didn't even have a plan for stealing those documents.

What we DO know is that when he was rejected by the voters, he lost the one thing that meant the most to him ~ POWER. Having all those top secrets squirreled away like he did might have been his way of feeling powerful again.

Trump's not banging on all eight cylinders. Who knows what he was thinking.

The dementia is certainly banging away on him, all cylinders going. Sweat flopping, makeup running, hair dye congealing, spittle shooting out, eyes bulging, ranting and raving. Yup, definitely stable genius material.

Who knows? Maybe he was just doing what comes to him naturally: stealing stuff.

From the party that loved Iran/Contra Regoonietunes who seniled his way through setting up drug cartels in Latin America and oversaw what was up to that point the most corrupt presidential cabinet in US history ... while driving the price of drugs up with the D.A.R.E campaign.

The classified nuke docs are critical in two ways:

1) they show what we know about the nuclear abilities of other countries.

but more importantly,

2) they also show what we do not know about the nuclear capabilities of other countries, i.e., what they have been successful in hiding from us.

The result is that the other countries may start using more of (2)'s methods for securing their docs, meaning it will be more difficult in the future to see what they are doing.

If you're talking about a "monkey see, monkey do," I'm inclined to believe Trump was a one-off, even internationally. There's so much digital cyber-spying going on these days with satellites and whatnot, I'm not certain that even secrets are secret any more. Not even nuclear.

Human resources are another story. That would be the names and code names of Americas own CIA operatives imbedded in a hostile country, or even a non-hostile country, all over the world. The danger lies in what kind of damage Trump could do with that kind of political capitol when he reaches the end of his rope.

So far, all I've heard about is DOJ's investigation. If anybody knows the answer, I'd like to know if CIA or State Department documents are stored in the same scif at the White House. That might put a whole new light on what Trump has or doesn't have. I haven't heard anybody bring up the question yet.

@#13 ... more overdue library books ...

Library books are loaned to a person by the entity that owns them, i.e., the library.

The documents at MAL were stolen by fmr Pres Trump from the entity that owns them, i.e., the United States.

And now some of those stolen documents may be missing.

Given the sensitivity of the documents, there are questions, one of which is --- where are the documents?

Another question or two I have --- why did fmr Pres Trump steal them in the first place, what did he plan to do with them?

Well, technically you may be right. Of course, that assumes that ------- doesn't have other places he could have hidden them. BUT, if he had them and no longer has them, then what did he do with them? So, we can start accusing him of selling top secret national secrets.

I doubt that is what you were arguing but is the natural result of your "logic".

They did find classified docs in their search moron. That alone is enough to convict. That there may have been others that have since been lost, sold, or stolen would just add counts to the indictment.

But I wouldn't expect a trumper ------ to understand or admit any of that. Now go donate to his legal fund!

Didn't you enjoy seeing Steve Bannon handcuffed and frog marched off to jail today??

Why are you in such a hurry to see a former American President arrested and humiliated? It's already unprecedented for a former President to attack our Democracy and imperil our National Security in such a way. So have Patience Grasshopper.

"are they going to charge him with not having what they were looking for?"

Why would they need to something as ridiculous as that? They can easily indict The Previous Guy for what they have already found. And why would they even need to arrest him? Doesn't he also believe in The Rule of Law? Wont he just turn himself in and submit to Justice?

JFC indeed. Just when you think we have seen the worst of Trumpy and the MAGAts it gets even worse and the doo doo gets even deeper.

If and when the DoJ charges fmr Pres Trump, the DoJ may charge fmr Pres Trump, not for the documents he did not have, but for the ones that he did have.

Though I would think the DoJ, as well as various National Security departments would be quite interested to know what happened to the documents that are may be missing.

One of the most famous quotes of all time next to his "There are known knowns ... " quote.

Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me,
because as we know, there are known knowns;
there are things we know we know.
We also know there are known unknowns;
that is to say we know there are some things we do not know.
But there are also unknown unknowns"the ones we don't know we don't know.
And if one looks throughout the history of our country and other free countries, it is the latter category that tends to be the difficult ones.

Dude was brilliant I tells ya!!

Funny - not one post on this thread used the word treason except LftHnd's. He must really be worried that Trump's guilty of it.

Let's review:

Common definition of Treason: the crime of betraying one's country, especially by attempting to kill the sovereign or overthrow the government.

Yep. It definitely fits trump and his actions.

Thanks for calling that to our attention!

#39 | Posted by YAV at 2022-09-09 10:17 PM | Reply

Common definition of Treason:

Is irrelevant.

The Treason Clause of the Constitution and the Treason Statute bear the only relevance.

They both require either waging war against the country or aiding those who do. The Buffoon has not committed Treason. Nor did any of the idiots on J6.

"Sedition, you mean?"

Not quite. I think it's Seditious Conspiracy:

"Seditious conspiracy is a crime in various jurisdictions of conspiring against the authority or legitimacy of the state. As a form of sedition, it has been described as a serious but lesser counterpart to treason, targeting activities that undermine the state without directly attacking it."

I do like the word "Treason," though. I think a smart attorney could make a case that the GOP, vis-a-vis Trump's aiding and abetting action on January 6, did indeed declared war on the United States of America.

Now, just over a month after FBI agents served a legal search warrant at Mar-A-Lago to retrieve boxes of classified documents Trump took from the White House, legal experts and others are calling for a similar search of the Bedminster residence after a new video was released that shows Trump's staff loading boxes onto a private plane in Palm Beach, Florida on May 9th.

Not surprising that the Trumps who all lied on their security clearance background investigation questionnaires about foreign travel & contacts and who knows what else were careless with all sensitive info, including highly secret documents and info.

Worse yet is that Trump had cozied up to adversaries of the West's ideals of personal rights and liberties. How valuable those secrets could be to others is impossible to guess. Who knows what Trump's reasons were or still are for possessing so many secret files and plans and reports?

Fortunately, It's possible that some classified documents are supposed to be impossible to photocopy, or that may indicate if they've been illuminated by a copier. But can that technology indicate if they've been photographed without a flash? One hopes. And if any if those documents that have been recovered or those yet to be recovered bear evidence of having been copied, Trump might be suspected of charges worse than stealing TS documents; but of copying them, too.
