Several elected officials in Russia have been summoned by police after they called for the impeachment of Russian President Vladimir Putin. In a rare display of dissent in the country, local deputies from the Smolninskoye municipality in the St. Petersburg area appealed to the Russian Duma to impeach the President, for what they called crimes of high treason.

... Russian Officials Call For Putin's Impeachment ...

If (and that is a big if) Pres Putin is replaced, who will be the one to replace him?

The Russian nationalist movement has been gaining strength in recent years, and they make Pres Putin look like a West-loving politician.

In Russia, Far-Right Nationalists Offer Rare Criticism of Kremlin's War Effort

...In Russia, nationalist figures and pro-war bloggers volley criticism at the Kremlin for failures and missteps by Russian forces in the war in Ukraine. Their narrative contradicts the version promulgated by the Kremlin, which otherwise has suppressed negative coverage of Russia's performance.

In Telegram channels, critics who generally support Russia's campaign in Ukraine are faulting the government of Russian President Vladimir Putin for Russia's inadequate preparation for the war, an unnecessarily high rate of casualties and the slow pace of Russia's offensive.

"While the Kremlin continues to slowly chew the usual snot, our respected Ukrainian partners are matter-of-factly destroying everything they can reach," wrote Igor Girkin, a far-right nationalist, after Ukrainian forces struck Russian targets with U.S.-supplied weapons in July. "The failure of the Russian military strategy in Ukraine is obvious," he said earlier this month.

Mr. Girkin, who commanded pro-Russian separatist forces in 2014 seeking to break the Donbas region from Ukraine's control, is among the most vocal critics of the Russian performance in the war.

Such voices"many urging the Kremlin to become more aggressive in Ukraine"could lay the groundwork for a military draft, which Mr. Putin so far has avoided, according to analysts....

If this many people are willing to speak out there are millions agreeing in silence.

#3 How do you know these people are dead?

Sources? Or are you just convinced without evidence?

RussianPoser, rofl!

Ya gotta love it when the clown who ignores literally dozens of expert sources on the fact that Nazis don't control the Ukraine... whines for sources.

From today's New York Times,
"As Russian forces hastily retreated in northeastern Ukraine on Saturday in one of their most embarrassing setbacks of the war, President Vladimir V. Putin was at a park in Moscow, presiding over the grand opening of a Ferris wheel."
How is it that Putin can be out in public at events, entirely free of any fear of assassination? The time has come. Get on with it.

Because it's Putin's critics who have to worry, not Putin. He's been known to "retaliate" swiftly and without mercy when his cabinet members start talking about getting rid of him ~ especially the "without mercy" part.

It's been a few years ago but I remember one cabinet member who talked trash about Putin. He committed suicide by shooting himself in the head ~~ twice.

You think it's just a coincidence that everyone who threatens putin ends up dead or in jail?

Impeachment is for civilized nations, In Russia their leaders only understand a bullet in the head. I hope Putin gets his soon.

Throughout Russia's history, the worst thing a leader could do is lose a major war.

It usually doesn't end well for the leader.

Of course, we could hope these are more civilized times. But we as a society are just as primal as ever.

I am so happy Ukraine is taking their country back from the Russians. I am just hoping they do not expose their lines of supply like the dummy Russian general staff did with theirs which led to this ongoing route.
Power to the people of Ukraine and down with the Russian invaders!

Also, down with Vladimir Putin's legacy of restoring the old Soviet Union to its former power and glory . . . on his watch.

How embarrassing!
