Attempts by DeathSentance to shrug and laugh off this matter are falling by the wayside by the minute. People thought that Poppy Bush claiming to be a 'compassionate Conservative' rang a bit hollow, but there are many more compassionate folks out there than there are heels. There are plenty of Florida voters (e.g., Jewish folk, refugees from various Caribbean islands, etc.) who are a lot more compassionate and sympathetic to those desperate to come to this country than Ronnie and his conference of mugs realize. If Charlie Crist starts each speech and commercial with "My opponent acts in an indecent manner toward his fellow man" that message will resonate well and fast, and some first-term governor will be out of a job. DeSantis barely won four years ago--turning not many voters will put him on the curb...

Trump is outraged at DeSantis again... for stealing his McDonald's Coupons for Votes idea.

Hungry Migrants Were Lured with $10 McDonalds Gift Certificates
"What you do for a Klondike Bar?" #2 | Posted by sentinel

Man, how I miss those lard fries McD's used to make. They were spectacular and more addictive than crack. The current ones are meh at best.

Also, Ron DeSantis and anyone who supports this type of exploitation of hungry people is a monster.

Something to keep in mind.

Republicans always argue that their anti-immigrant stance isn't racist because they just want people to go through the legal process.

Well, these people were going through the legal process.

They entered the country and reported to ICE asking for asylum.

They were not "illegal".

The corrupt, immoral and illegal actions taken against these people put their legal status at risk.

I've said it before, I'll say it again.

Republicans are scum.

www.cbsnews.com

Approximately 47,000 Ukrainians have come to the U.S. on temporary or immigrant visas; nearly 30,000 Ukrainians arrived under a private sponsorship program; more than 22,000 Ukrainians were admitted along the U.S.-Mexico border; and 500 Ukrainians entered the country through the traditional refugee system, the data show.

Why weren't Ukrainians given the human trafficking treatment?

Apparently white people legally seeking asylum is different than brown people legally seeking asylum... to Trumpers.

Well, since the story is that a republican governor cruelly lied to legal asylum-seeking people fleeing violence and shipped them across the country and dumped them somewhere without telling the people at the place, they were being sent that they were coming, during an offseason when only tradesmen and fishermen are on the island and the LIBERAL people are treating the asylum seekers with humanity and generosity, yeah sure, this is something republicans should love-snark.

Cause, get this dumbass, this effort is illegal, corrupt and backfiring.

Of course you do. Because you desperately need to get the topic off of your party's fascist coup attempt, trump's endless crimes, and your efforts to force everyone to live under your cult's religious rules.

Political stunts are the best way to do that.

If this is what he does as governor, imagine the political stunts desantis could pull off if you elected him president.

I think the Indian-riot ones were just cooked in vegetable oil that had a little beef flavoring added to it. The stuff I'm talking about is from the beginning of time till the mid 80's when it was fried in pure lard. Good stuff...

The christian wing of the GOP stands against everything christ taught. All they think is liberals=devil. So if liberals are upset, then it means they're doing something good.

If anything you should be praising abott. He's the one who started sending immigrants to liberal cities. But at least he was sending them to places they could get jobs and support.

Psychopath desantis stole his idea, but he had to go GET migrants from somewhere else, then lured them onto a plane with false promises and trafficked them to an off-season vacation island where they can't get jobs and were stranded. That's the approach you really admire.

So the guy you want to be president STOLE someone else's political stunt, made it worse and more cruel and criminal, got bigger headlines, and is now beloved by your sick party for it.

"political brilliance."

I agree with Lamp. Too soon to tell.

But it was intentional and I think it's headed in the direction DeSantis wanted. Not necessarily the civil and criminal charges being touted but the negative attention the Biden administration is getting from this is what he wanted. That and the kudos DeSantis is getting from the more extreme right.

It was the promise of jobs that lured them not the gift cards. Then they were taken to an vacation island in the off-season. Human trafficking.

"Why weren't Ukrainians given the human trafficking treatment?"

Probably because they were ACTUALLY escaping life and death situations not of their making. What you are saying is that if I make $5m where I live but I could make $10m in another country, that country should let me in and assist me with anything I ever want. Even have them send me for free to rich locations teeming with resources.

The fact Liberals compare a people leaving a country where they don't have everything they want to people leaving a country that is invaded by a major world country using tanks, bombs, etc. to kill them is astounding. And that is generally speaking. There are definitely those who have to escape life and death situations. But it's not 2m in one year alone from select countries.

If you weren't totally ignorant and consumed real news you'd know that venezuela is totally collapsing and people are desperate to just feed their families.

An economic collapse triggered by sanctions that TRUMP imposed.

So once again, you're whining about a problem YOU CREATED as if you're the victims.

Going into full histrionic mode and comparing this stunt to things that are actually vile, like actual human rights violations, is the over-the-top response Republicans wanted to provoke. You know it's possible to call them out without resorting to that, right?

In American politics ? You have got to be kidding. You want one side to unilaterally disarm and let the other just run wild with their ridiculous and false accusations??

Get real. The reason Trumpy got as far as he did is because Americans love to see a good political fight. And Trumpy sure put in a good show didn't he? Until his lies all fell apart. But America loves a good show. And apparently they love to be lied to.

I see you're still in denial about how Trump's opponents practically handed it to him on a silver platter and are still clueless about being rope-a-doped into fighting on his terms. (Hint: blaming the voters is never good. Republicans whined about "low information voters" when Obama was President and it didn't really help them.) Trump may very well have been reelected if he hadn't self-imploded when the pandemic hit, and especially if a less reasonable candidate than Biden had been nominated and same tactics that failed in 2016 kept being reused.

But hey, keep repeating the same mistakes you made in the past and see where that gets you with people like DeSantis.
