Yeah, I know the title and description are going to get edited, but what I wrote is true. She was assaulted and was clearly scared in the video that was posted of her.

Where does it say she was assaulted?

She wasn't. It's too early for this racist garbage.

"Where does it say she was assaulted?"

It doesn't say that because like most media outlets reporting on this story it lies by omitting the fact that the larger man admitted he approached the smaller woman with threatening comments and behavior before he started recording her.

Assault does not have to involve physical contact. Assault refers to the wrongful act of causing someone to reasonably fear imminent harm. People often confuse the term assault with assault and battery.

"after she was caught on video confronting"

See how the language of these news articles implies that she was the one who started the confrontation, as if she approached a guy who was minding his own business? When in fact it was the exact opposite that happened.

"and calling the police on a ---.[...]"

Those are the initials for how news articles almost universally describe the poor little "victim" Tyrone.

Central Park Karen's 15 minutes was up long ago. Product is past expiry date.

The name, however, will live on.

Christan was the "Karen", not Melody.

#10 | Posted by sentinel at 2022-09-22 10:49 AM | Reply

Your article says A woman labeled "Central Park Karen".

And who is Melody?

#11 | Posted by REDIAL at 2022-09-22 10:52 AM | Reply

What is a Karen? Based on how it's usually used, a Karen is a busybody who confronts others over petty things and makes demands that they follow what they see as the "rules". The woman in this story was not a Karen. The man was.

#12 | Posted by sentinel at 2022-09-22 11:04 AM | Reply

Melody is the racist woman.

Never heard of her. Oh well, I don't care but go ahead and rant about this all day.

I wasn't really surprised by this ruling. Her lawyer was kind of lazy, apparently liked to spend more time smoking cigars on YouTube, and big corporations usually have an advantage over the little person.

#23 | Posted by sentinel at 2022-09-23 09:21 AM | Reply

The truth obviously didn't and doesn't matter to some people, as long as they can jump on a bandwagon and punch down on a scapegoat to make themselves feel better, even if subconsciously they know it's based on a complete lie and fabrication.

Down is up, truth is funny. Orwell would be inspired.

Are you her? You seem unreasonably invested in this "story."

#25 | Posted by JOE at 2022-09-23 11:23 AM | Reply

No, I am not her. I just really hate witch hunts that are based on demonstrable lies, whether it's this one, or the one where the Indian assaulted a kid who was receiving racist abuse and the media reported it as the exact opposite, or the one where a dumb kid defended himself against people assaulting him (including a white pedophile) and it was blatantly lied about. Truth matters. And hate crime hoaxes are very harmful to minorities. And helpful to people like Putin, who will probably mark this comment with a funny flag.

"I just really hate witch hunts that are based on demonstrable lies"

Do you now? Did you even read the article you posted? The judge rejected her claims and said the big scary black man acted appropriately.

So if it was all based on a "lie" then why did she lose her court case?

Was her dog on leash?

Was her dog in an area where dogs are required to be on leash?

I have no idea what was presented in court. Judges can only rule based on what they're presented with. Like I said, her lawyer appears to be lazy, based on what I've seen of him on you tube.

A few years ago I came strongly to defence of a woman who called the police after McDonalds refused to give her a refund after they realized they didn't have item she had ordered and already paid for. I saw the way people piled on her as being extremely hypocritical and unjust. If she had stolen the same amount of goods and services or cash from them, the business would have called 911 on her and no one would have batted an eyelid. I see a lot of parallels with the punching down in this in the other stories I mentioned, although because the woman in the McDonald's story was black people couldn't pretend that they were punching up. And they didn't call her the K-word either.

What on earth do you mean?

Later admits to not knowing anything about the decision

So I guess its not really ok to attack women in Central Park after all, as you claimed

You poor bastard

Ah, look, the drunk Indian showed up. Yeah, I don't know all procedural the details about how this specific court case went down, but I know the details of why it was brought. Her former employer did defame her, along with a number of media outlets that continue to do so. If judge says the big beautiful bird watcher acted appropriately, she either doesn't know the facts of the case or she's racially biased.

#34 | Posted by sentinel at 2022-09-23 06:58 PM | Reply

Nobody likes a Karen. Her former employer didn't need that baggage, and responded accordingly. I don't blame them, and she got what's coming to her.

And the judge agrees.

Been a bad couple of days for Karens:

Trump-Appointed Judge Dismisses Lawsuit by Parents Who Sued over Merrick Garland School Board Memo That Sparked Conservative Outrage

"The alleged AG Policy is not regulatory, proscriptive, or compulsory in nature because it does not impose any regulations, requirements, or enforcement actions on individuals," U.S. District Judge Dabney Friedrich noted in a 10-page ruling. "None of the documents that the plaintiffs allege establish the policy create an imminent threat of future legal actions against anyone, much less the plaintiffs."

Dated Oct. 4, 2021, the memo did not mention "parents," let alone target them for retribution. It reported a spike of threats and harassment against schools.... In fact, the memo expressly supported the First Amendment rights of parents or anyone else to speak their mind about school policies.

"While spirited debate about policy matters is protected under our Constitution, that protection does not extend to threats of violence or efforts to intimidate individuals based on their views," the memo noted. "Threats against public servants are not only illegal, they run counter to our nation's core values. Those who dedicate their time and energy to ensuring that our children receive a proper education in a safe environment deserve to be able to do their work without fear for their safety."

And we'll pour another cup of MAGA tears upon the sun-parched ground ...

"Woman in Viral Central Park Video Loses Suit Over Firing"

Say it with me, Republicans:
Too bad for Franklin Templeton that New York isn't a Right To Work state.
Forcing companies to defend their actions to fire someone is exactly the kind of regulation that hampers economic growth!

But this comment of your alias caught my attention...

...

Aside from the apparent admission that your position is based upon, well, nothing...

I have to ask, why is the inability to present evidence in court a benefit for an accuser?
