Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, September 22, 2022

The migrants didn't know that they were being swept up in an operation that bore striking similarities to one organized the week before by operatives for Gov. Ron DeSantis that ended with 48 Venezuelan migrants dropped off on a Massachusetts island. Or that the trip to Delaware being dangled would never happen. Ultimately, the migrants interviewed by the Herald were the butt of the joke. They thought they were going somewhere.

They also didn't know that an anonymous source close to DeSantis would suggest to NBC News that a planned charter flight from San Antonio to Delaware - that was destined for an airport not far from President Joe Biden's summer home, according to flight records, and dominated cable news on Tuesday - was canceled without explanation and then used to "punk" journalists and Democrats and keep the "spotlight" on immigration.

After the flight was canceled, the recruiters organized a bus to take Escalona and most of the others back from La Quinta to the San Antonio migrant resource center. But some migrants were never told about the bus. They were stranded at the remote hotel roughly 10 miles from the resource center, where migrants can get aid and shelter for a maximum of three days.

All of the migrants interviewed by the Herald told similar stories. They were recruited by a woman in a black vehicle driving around the migrant resource center and then taken to La Quinta to wait. Although the destination was uncertain, the plan appealed to people who had no resources after making the long journey north from Venezuela.

Deiker Jos's plan vanished the moment the flight was canceled. "I want to cry because I feel hopeless. I have nothing. How do I work? How do I survive?" he said.

Well it's obvious that Gov. DeSantis doesn't give a flip about whether Deiker Jose lives or dies as he and his operatives toyed and manipulated his life and emotions. Imagine what the $1 million could have done to help all these migrants simply looking to work and survive? Naw, the money is better spent owning the libs - going into the pockets of their campaign donor's company. That's what today's GOP presidential frontrunners live for.

"Naw, the money is better spent owning the libs"

So what are the libs going to do in response, beyond going into histrionics about how politicians play dirty tricks on their opponents?

#2 they'll buy a crap ton of Spanish language media in FL, especially AM radio to educate the Spanish-speaking people that DuhSatan is a racist who is making people who look like them the butt of his cruel joke. They will try to beat him where it hurts, the ballot box. Oh, and they should mail a bunch of banned books to every white household in FL with kids.

The kind will clean up after DeSantis' tantrums. And hopefully garner enough votes to get him out of office. Even my Floridian GOP acquaint are tired of these antics. And they're not find of immigrants, they just think he's wasting money on stupid stunts.

That's all DeSantis does: third-rate performative political theater, cheap stunts. Another Trump punk with a hostile attitude shoved into a stuffed suit.

The people who support someone like DeSantis would never willingly live next door to someone like Desantis.

We'll just make sure everyone knows what Desantis is really all about. Republican immigrant candidates advertise their parents flight from Cuba but then support Desantis using Venezueln refugees as political pawns, wronly calling them illrgal immigrants when they are actually legal asylum seekers But Desantis doesn't care about that, he just wanted immigrants to use as politicl props. Investigations are ubderway about this crime. I hupe he is charged and tried for his human trafficing. He deserves ptison time for this stunt.

#8 | Posted by danni at 2022-09-23 08:39 AM | Reply

Ron DeSantis still has $10.435 million left in his human trafficking fund. At his current burn rate he has about 320 more people left to kidnap.

If you honestly believe a crime has been committed, then the focus should be on that. My guess is he did a lot to cover his A, so it will be hard to pin the legally dubious aspects on him. That may be why they canceled the flight in this story. So now it looks like his critics are bitching about him NOT trafficking migrants across state lines. The response to DeSantis seems very politically inept.

Biden relocated over 400,000 illegal aliens in 2021.

DeSantis relocates a fraction of 1% of that total and it's the crime of the century.

The hilarity of how ridiculous the left is being simply cannot be overstated.

This is epic.

"Biden relocated over 400,000 illegal aliens in 2021."

Did Biden tell the illegal aliens where they were going?
Did Biden tell their destinations that they were coming?

Did DeSantis tell the illegal aliens where they were going?
Did DeSantis tell their destinations that they were coming?

If you can answer those four questions, then you are capable of intellectual honesty.

"Sources familiar with the matter" are saying that just prior to boarding the plane to Nartha's Vineyard DeSantis borrowed some horse reins from a sidelined DHS employee and "strapped" them as they were being kidnapped and sent off to that torture facility commonly known as Martha's Vineyard.

Isn't transporting peopler across state lines through fraudulent means "human trafficking"?

It is simply ASTOUNDING that someone would conflate the legal, authorized actions of the federal government with the political stunt that DeSantis is pulling and think that they are making a convincing argument! Do they really believe what they are writing or are words just falling out of their brain and onto the keyboard?

I'm reminded of sentences produced by an AI bot; they are legible but make no sense.

"stranded". Yeah like the 50 were "stranded" in MV ?

"Martha's Vineyard was more than capable of accommodating those migrants; they simply didn't want them there and got rid of them just as soon as the TV cameras were switched off! A quick airbnb search shows that there were over a thousand accommodations available. Additionally, airbnb has a program specifically designed for refugees, I know because I ( author, not me ) contributed to their initiative as soon as I became aware of it earlier this year."

They could have housed them, but they were too busy with Buffy, Muffy and Chadwick's badminton / yachting tournament.

What's Biden's excuse ?

Why didn't DeSantis book any of them? He was the only one that knew they were coming.

"Why didn't DeSantis book any of them?"

Especially after spending $12,000 per immigrant to fly them there.
His war chest didn't have an extra $100 a night for AirBnb?
