Both Nord Stream natural gas pipelines from Russia to Germany have developed apparent leaks within hours of one another. The cause is unknown, but some sources have hinted at sabotage.

More from the article...

...Danish and Swedish officials on Tuesday said two leaks had been identified on the Nord Stream 1 Russia-Europe gas pipeline in the Baltic Sea.

The news came only hours after a similar development on its twin pipeline, Nord Stream 2. Both conduits have become flash points in the escalating energy war that has sent gas prices rocketing since Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

What do we know so far?

Officials said a pressure drop was detected in the Nord Stream 1 undersea gas channel soon after a similar fall was detected in its sister pipeline, Nord Stream 2.

Both of Nord Stream 1's two lines are affected, while one of Nord Stream 2's pipelines showed a drop in pressure.

Marine authorities identified a gas leak southeast of the Danish island of Bornholm as the likely cause of the issue affecting Nord Stream 2. Danish officials warned of a threat to shipping in the area and asked vessels to steer clear.

Swedish authorities on Tuesday said there were two leaks on Nord Stream 1 -- one in the Danish maritime economic zone and the other in the Swedish one. The two leaks were reported to be very close to one another.

The German economy ministry said it was investigating the incident.

"We currently do not know the reason for the drop in pressure," it said.
Blasts registered by Swedish seismologists

Seismologists from Sweden's National Seismology Centre (SNSN) told public broadcaster SVT that powerful blasts had been registered in the areas of the gas leaks on Monday.

"There is no doubt that these were explosions," SNSN seismologist Bjorn Lund told SVT....

Posted this infor on the nooner, looks like the speculation is it was the US.

Pres. Biden: "If Russia invades...then there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2. We will bring an end to it."

Reporter: "But how will you do that, exactly, since...the project is in Germany's control?"

Biden: "I promise you, we will be able to do that."

Psst - you're supposed to be pretending to be a liberal remember?

You trump morons will blame anything anywhere on biden, even if it harms biden and the world.

Why would biden want to strengthen putin's position by making oil even more scarce in europe?

And have you morons decided yet if biden is a genius mastermind or a senile fool? You keep saying he's both.

Just incase you are too scared of the facts ....

BTW, there's no shortage of pipeline capacity for taking gas from Russia to Western Europe, including Germany. Nordstream's only logic was for Putin to be able to blackmail or wage war on Eastern Europe with impunity.

All Ukrainian and Baltic sea states have opposed Nordstream's construction for 20 years.
Now $20 billion of scrap metal lies at the bottom of the sea, another cost to Russia of its criminal decision to invade Ukraine.
Someone, did a special maintenance operation.

Obviously sabotage.

#20 | Posted by AMERICANUNITY at 2022-09-28 03:22 AM | Reply

It is certainly sabotage. Who benefits? You can make a case for Ukraine, UK, US, Any number of NATO countries, and yes even Russia. Very honestly, it would not surprise me at all that it is Russia given the location of the attack.

In international waters Why not just sacrifice the pump stations on land, something you could quickly rebuild? The purpose of the sabotage was to destroy the pipelines. All that sea water in those pipes will corrode them; having to replacing a large portion of pipeline.

Who benefits?

Right now its known that Europe is in an upcoming energy crisis. If they accept energy from Russia given the crisis, Russia makes more money, and perhaps gives Russia other leverage. With the pipeline destroyed this isn't a possibility. IOW there's no going back. Doing it now just makes it a condition to deal with, doing this in the winter when the energy is needed, and people are dying makes it criminal.

The US benefits in its goal of toppling Putin, that is the intent of the US right now regardless of lives and plunder it costs.
The US also benefits as we have begun shipping LNG to Europe, but the price was too low, NOT ANY MORE.
