The entire last 6 months of "Shakes" rule has been a mistake. What an idiot.

And no wonder Pootie-mouth and the Fat Traitor got along so well. Between them their I.Q. approached room temperature.

From the cited article...

...At a briefing on Monday, Mr Putin's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, conceded that mistakes were being made.

He said that in some regions, "governors are actively working to rectify the situation"....

"in some regions"??? ... What about other regions?

Russia Admits Mobilization Errors

Well, I hope this guy wasn't one of them, as it seems like he went through a lot of effort to avoid the draft. It would be ironic, like rain on your wedding day.

It occurred to me that Russia today is probably not much different than the USSR, in that local and regional officials still maintain their personal enemies lists and many of those on the list are bring thrown into (or under, figuratively) the recruiting bus. It would certainly explain some of the bizarre physical conditions of some recruits.

This will be a brutal shock for Putin's True Believers that is his zealots those who defy the man.

"It would be ironic, like rain on your wedding day."

Ironically, nothing in that song is ironic.

New satellite images show a line of cars and trucks spanning more than 10 miles of trying to leave Russia and enter Georgia," Axios reports.

I told you Vlad is a savvy genius.

In other regions protests aren't so bad so they don't have as many volunteers for the mobilization...

Look at all the sickly weaklings russia is trying to force to fight for them.

Americans eat better in the field than they eat at home.

Peter Olandt's "The Russian Mobilization is Best Understood in the Context of the BTG" (, that army's standard Battalion Tactical Group arrangement of forces, is an interesting read.

In order to function as designed, the BTG requires "meat shields," troops whose job it is to get the enemy to start blasting away at them in order to reveal positions.

The conscripts are the new "meat shields" for the BTGs, the others having become ... unoperational.

The conscripts have to refill the BTGs too. Those have been mauled by the last 9 months. Even more excitement, they get to be an Infantry BTG since they've lost so much armor & mech forces.

Thanks for adding some additional grit to the picture.

And you've taken me back to 1967, Vietnam War, Washington, D.C., soon after the huge March on the Pentagon, just before the big Tet Offensive, when I was with a couple of busloads of mostly grim draft notice recipients hauled out of town one dark morning and over to Ft. Holabird for testing and processing. At the end of the day, business done, names were called and some of us answered and ended up back on the bus. But those deemed acceptable were prevented from boarding the bus for the trip home. Next stop: Vietnam. They ended up attacking the troops guarding the buses with stones and fists, trying to get back on.

I made a few mild predictions about the toughness of Ukraine & how bad Russian logistics are 9 months ago.

I'd never have predicted a Russian refugee crisis of men escaping being slave soldiers though.
