Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Ernesto Herrera should have wore his Nikes when he attempted to serve a subpoena to Texas AG Ken Paxton in a case brought by nonprofits wanting to help Texans pay for out of state abortions. When Herrera knocked on the door of Paxton's house he was initially greeted by Paxton's wife Angela. He identified himself and his purpose. She told him that the AG was on a phone call and not available. About an hour later a vehicle pulled into the drive and Paxton walked out from his garage. Herrera, who was still waiting, began to walk towards him and announced himself. At that point Paxton "turned around and RAN back inside the house." Angela Paxton then exited the house and opened the doors on a truck in the driveway. Ken Paxton then ran from the house, jumped into the vehicle and they drove away.

Paxton, who is under indictment for securities fraud, claimed on social media that he receives "constant threats" and was taking "common sense precautions for me and my family's safety" to "avoid a stranger lingering outside" his home.
He didn't explain whether or not his wife told him who was waiting outside or why he didn't call law enforcement during the hour plus in which Herrera waited outside of his home. He also didn't explain why he would send wife outside to start the truck if was truly concerned about his "family's safety." Sounds to me that Paxton is liar or a coward or both.

It's Texas, wouldn't he have the right to shoot the guy if he felt threatened?

If I get this right, Paxton felt threatened by the server, so he sent his wife out to start the truck? Manliest of men running TX these days.

Surprised he didn't shove her towards the server and make a break solo. Quite a piece of work, this guy.
