...Once in the body, they don't go away"hence the name "forever chemicals""and can cause a host of health concerns, from thyroid disease and cancer to liver damage and fertility issues....

The study was conducted by the Environmental Working Group (EWG), an environmental and public health nonprofit. EWG scientists reviewed 40 studies on the presence of PFAS in umbilical cord blood from citizens of the US and 11 other countries, including China, Japan, and Brazil. All of them reported a range of PFAS were found in their respective samples, with 14 studies in particular linking PFAS presence in the umbilical cord with PFAS detection later in childhood, as well as increased health risks in adulthood....

There is no place where it does not rain this. Our gov does not want to stand in the way of new chemicals so it allows them before proven safe.

"meaning PFAS have been nearly ubiquitous for longer than we otherwise might have thought."

Ummm who is this we? PFAS have been around for several decades and in use throughout our society. If you would have done this check 40-50 years ago I might have been a little surprised.

Anyone ever bought "stain resistant" anything?
Water Repellent clothing?
Eaten at a Fast Food restaurant - or anywhere that uses grease resistant "papers"?
How about non-stick cookware?

PFAS are EVERYWHERE and have been a LONG time.

Are we going to let this keep getting worse for 40 years before we finally take it seriously like climate change?

If liberals start saying we need to do something about toxic chemicals, the chemical companies will just make it a partisan issue and call it a liberal hoax, so that republicans become PRO toxic chemicals and come to rescue their profits.

When I was in college my uncle gifted me the book,"Exploring New Ethics for Survival: The Voyage of the Spaceship Beagle" That book opened my eyes and changed my perspective on environmemtql issues. The premise is that the earth is like a spaceship. It is finite. One key phrase resonates with me, "There is no "away" to throw things to." I have always endeavored to lighten my footprint, and reduce the impact my actions have on the environment.

"Even mRNA Health Supplements?" Yeah, but those were tested on humans and animals. Most chems are not. Also, ever hear of thalidomide?
