Gov. Gavin Newsom ended the suspense over a farmworker labor bill by agreeing to sign it two days before deadline and after much prodding by national and state union leaders and President Joe Biden.

What kind of democrat opposes unionization unless he's bought and paid for?

The kind of Democrat who is also concerned about consumer prices at a time when food prices are rising rapidly. I believe in unions, including farmworkers but with inflation increasing the cost of feeding a family so significantly, right now may not be the best time to do it.

#2 Danni, the cost to pick a head of lettuce is ten cents. The rest is shipping, packaging, delivery, refregiration, and point of sale. That's why it's like $1 where I live. I could pay 10 cents more to double someones wages.

Bernie was right, you know that.

Helium, I actually questioned my own comment and would probably not say the same thing now. Of course farmworkers deserve the right to organize now and any additional costs to consumers will be very minimal but could make farmworker's lives much more livable.
Please consider my previous comment as a brain fart.
