Mailers recently distributed in several competitive North Carolina House districts feature deceptively edited photos of Democratic candidates, tying them to the "defund the police" movement and Black Lives Matter protests.

Just wait until we hear about how much fraud there will be in SW FL during the stupid, unnecessary rebuilding efforts.

Just shows you how ------- stupid the uber woke slogan DEFUND THE POLICE is. It's such a stupid policy and horrible politics that repubs want to attach it to people who don't support it.

The entire Republican party needs to make a very large public apology for slander before they get sued.

The "liberal --------s" will have to keep propping NC up.

Ya'll are one of the many "conservative" states who suck far more from the U.S. Treasury than they contribute.

Wrong on both accounts there, AU. Not nearly as wrong as that idiot boaz, but that's a high bar.

The only reason republicans have the power they do in this state is their awful gerrymandering.

As of July 25th, 2020, North Carolina had about 7.8 million voting-eligible adults and 7 million registered voters. Their partisan affiliation was roughly split between three groups: Democrat, unaffiliated, and Republican, with a slight lead to Democrats. Specifically:

2,537,032 or 36% were registered Democrat;
2,344,632 or 33% were registered unaffiliated;
2,104,881 or 30% were registered Republican;

And we're ranked 30th in the list of most federally dependent states for 2021.

You like living in a place lead by people who just lie to you in order to win elections, even if it means photoshopping the opponents to support things they don't support?

What if democrats photoshopped a republican having gay sex and released that campaign ad? You cool with that?

#9 | Posted by SpeakSoftly at 2022-09-30 02:51 PM | Reply

Most of the revenue the government collects comes from contributions from individual taxpayers

States with higher populations send in more taxes.
States with lower populatins draw more program contributions.

The cohort in the states drawing the most benefits are the perennially low-income residents, the ones least likely to vote red.

Border states and deep-south states have huge populations of multi-generational welfare residents, and states wuth large indian populations soak up a lot of BIA money.

So please, eliminate a bunch of programs, it won't hurt the reds, and it only serves to foster dependency of the blue welfare horde. But above all remember that there's no such thing as Federal Money (except for tariffs). Fed money comes from the states, they send it in and the Feds dole it out, keeping a good portion for themselves and their families and friends. Remember though that the Fed contributes nothing.

Boaz supports the right for conservatives to lie.

He's a shill for the Republican Party.

It's not surprising.

Just wanted to point it out.

Or how about members of Congress who've never been outside the United States?

Back in 1994, when Newt Gingrich and his 'Contract with America' helped him gain control of the House and he was elected Speaker of the House, of those 50+ new Republican House members, about 80% of them had never been issued a passport, so except for some possible day trips to Canada or Mexico, or perhaps while in the Military, none of these Representatives had experienced how it is that other people in world live or what their countries were really like, and yet these same people were expected to help set our national polices including those that impacted our relationships with foreign nations and their people.

But this was not limited to only elected members of Congress.

In 2001, when George W. Bush entered office, his ONLY travel outside of the United States, except for beer runs to Mexico when he was in college, was limited to a SINGLE trip to England when his father was CIA Director. And this was back when he was still drinking and the security personnel accompanying Bush Senior commented that they didn't have to worry much about Bush Junior since he hardly ever left the hotel bar, and they weren't sure if he ever left to hotel at all during the short visit.

yeah that tends to happen when you intentionally oppress a social group for hundreds of years because you think america should be a white nation. They have a hard time building wealth and contributing to the economy.

#12,

Good. It's not their job to worry about other countries. They need to be worried about the people here in the U.S. and understanding them.

had experienced how it is that other people in world live or what their countries were really like

So? Who GAF? That's the problem with our politicians, especially liberal or "progressive" ones. That's why local is where politics is supposed to be. No, I'm not "connected" with some country on the other side of the world. ---- em.

If you ever needed a reason to doubt anything boaz has said about being a veteran and serving overseas #15 should do the job. Even the least intellectual Marines I served with were profoundly changed by the places we went to on deployments.

No. The highest state funding per resident goes to rural areas...which vote Red. It's not even close.

Have you ever even LOOKED at state finances?

1) Formerly opressed groups are now advantaged. There is some hysteris involved, but largely opportunities are extended at the expense of the perceived 'priveliged' group.

2) Indians are filthy rich and can afford anything, yet still we maintain a universal healthcare sysrem just for them, and throw other monies also.

Kamala on Hurricane Ian relief:

The Biden administration will focus on "giving resources based on equity" by directing funds to "communities of color"

Please stop pretending to be opressed. We're going to allocate emergency funds according to race. White people, you still here? Working your jobs and paying taxes?
Why?

NC gets over $11,000 back for every $7000 they pay into the U.S. Treasury.

It's those "liberal" states that actually pay in a surplus.

Don't get me wrong. I don't have anything at all against NC. Just BOAZ's constant whining about the "liberals" who made his life possible, and the taxpayers from "liberal states" who make help possible for the less fortunate in red states and don't whine about it every day.

PS - I live in a red state myself.

#25 | Posted by AMERICANUNITY at 2022-10-01 01:29 AM | Reply

Fortunately, I live in a deep Blue state. Granted, my taxes are subsidizing the Red states, but at least we live where 'liberal' is not spoken like it's an obscenity.

I will gladly stay here in the land of plenty and where all are still equal and we don't frown at others because of their choices as long as they are harming no one.
