Good riddance. He never came close to filling jon stewart's shoes.

Jon stewart could go toe-to-toe with politicians, journalists, and intellectuals.
Trevor's guests were mainly actors, rappers, and musicians. When he did have a politician guest who needed to be confronted about something trevor lacked the ability to do it effectively.

Half his jokes had a punchline about how all guys cheat on their girlfriends. The other half referenced africa in one way or another.

If all your jokes involve africa in some way, maybe you should be hosting a show in africa instead of an american political comedy show.

Will comedy central replace him with someone who is better at this sort of show? Or will they prioritize finding someone with the most woke identity they can find? Perhaps a muslim lesbian trans person?

In Soviet Russia, Africa hosts you.

His trump impression was terrible.

Baldwin nailed it and the rest the late night comedians were at least ok.

Speak should read it. He might feel differently. Regardless he is one funny guy. I love it when folks like him can find the funny even in the days worst news. But filling Jon Stuart's shoes was always going to be a tough task. But i thought he did a fine job and I enjoyed his sense of humor. I am looking forward to seeing what he decides to do next.

Impossible task and a bad idea to begin with.

Did Jon Stewart try to fill former Daily Show host Craig Kilborn's shoes? No. He did his own thing and made The Daily Show a legend in the process.

That being said, I stopped watching it long before Jon retired. I actually watched it a lot when Kilborn was on, though Stewart's take was certainly a better show.

And, uh. Let's not forget these guys have writers.

Was John Stewart's writing team replaced with a bunch of stoned monkeys?

Can they just hire Dave Chappelle already?

I never liked that twit.

Dave Chappelle certainly wouldn't be my first choice but he has proven he can be funny.

Someone's backstory doesn't change my opinion of their current professional output. He's not a good daily show host. Whether his background is incredible or not. He's talented. Charismatic. He's great at other things. Just not at this job.

For those who don't know nearly all professional stand-up comedians come from horrible or tragic backgrounds.

Ellen DeGeneres Rodney Dangerfield and Rosie O'Donnell were all molested.

Stephen Colbert lost his father and a sibling in a plane crash.

Chris Rock grew up in poverty and dropped out in high school because Italian gangs kept beating him up.

Richard Pryor was raised in a whorehouse and never even met his own dad.

Coming from a messed up background doesn't make you special in the world of Comedy.

Wow. Tough crowd. So many Trevor critics. I had no idea.

Trevor is a political comedian. He is pretty good at it. Just not as good as Jon. Those are hard shoes to fill. But then again the only one who even came close was Stephen Colbert. There are others in his class like Samantha Bee and Bill Maher ( who has become a grumpy old self absorbed legend in his own mind) But I do think Trevor was better than most especially when he was fresh and hungry to the job. And perhaps he's gotten soft.

And your personal life and life history does affect and impact your public life. I like Trevor for many reasons but being unafraid of honestly sharing his personal life history publicly and in a humorous way was just one of of them. .

But regardless Trevor had some pretty good zingers. Sorry you missed them.

Not just me. Ratings dropped 65% after Jon left. Most people gave it a chance, but Trevor was unable to keep the formula going.
