Former President Donald J. Trump asked the Supreme Court on Tuesday to bar the Justice Department from reviewing documents marked as classified that the F.B.I. removed from his Florida estate, saying that an appeals court had lacked jurisdiction to rule on the matter.

The new filing was largely technical, saying that the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, in Atlanta, had not been authorized to stay aspects of a trial judge's order appointing a special master in the case.

"The 11th Circuit lacked jurisdiction to review the special master order, which authorized the review of all materials seized from President Trump's residence, including documents bearing classification markings," the application said.

The appeal is personally directed to Justice Clarence Thomas since he is the SCOTUS judge overseeing the 11th Circuit.

Time for the Supreme Court stooges to do what they were put on the bench to do.

Suck Trump's concave Dick.

This unwarranted stay should be vacated as it impairs substantially the ongoing, time-sensitive work of the Special Master.
Moreover, any limit on the comprehensive and transparent review of materials seized in the extraordinary raid of a President's home erodes public confidence in our system of justice.

I have to admit this Kise guy is a pretty good comedy writer.

Some Judge isn't going to think it's funny.

Which is the chance his lawyers take when they submit his hysterics in writing to the Court.

I hear some of his lawyers didn't appreciate the way he treats them and are turning state's evidence against him.

Delay... delay...delay...delay...delay...

That is all the fmr Pres Trump has got, so he seems to use it to the max.

The Court can easily disgtace themselve right at the beginning of their new session. And rhey peobably will. This court will never regain the respect of the people. They are just political hacks and the majpeity of Americans know that.

This is on the "shadow docket." Mostly arguments about stays.

I thought the Circuit Court wrote a pretty tight opinion as opposed to the scattershot of the District Court. I don't think the Supreme Court intervenes at this point but my crystal ball broke many years ago.

He could back out, but I predict that Thomas won't miss an opportunity to turn the screws just one more time.

And what the hell is wrong with Roberts? It wasn't that long ago that he said he wouldn't allow HIS Supreme Court to be used as political football.

And yet, here it is, exactly that!

I wish somebody would poll me about my faith in the U.S. Supreme Court.

I'd say a big fat ZERO.

Roberts lost control of the court when the more zealous
Trump Appointees joined with Thomas to basically wrest
control of the court and hand it to Thomas and Alito.

I have a bet with a friend that no matter what mayhem Trump gets into, he will never have one night in orange jumpsuit land. More and more, I have the painful hunch that I will, unfortunately win that bet. He gets to appoint the judges, he gets to judgeshop who will look over his ridiculous legal arguments, and everything gets to be appealed to the Supreme Court where he hired three of the members.
When justice dies, well, Russia has proven that a dictator can so corrupt the legal system that the people go about their lives not even daring to protest.

Scotus has chosen it's path with dotard time and time again in denying him relief for whatever hair brained argument he has made before them in the past.

I don't see this time being any different.

They were put there by McConnell to destroy voting rights, health care rights, equal rights, and be a shill for corporate 'murica to plunder and pollute the environment. They do his bidding. Not dotards.

Alito can bitch all he wants about people questioning their integrity and they may think by going against dotard they will restore it, but this court has had zero integrity and will continue to do so.

Der Dotard has put Uncle Thomas in a box. This situation is a matter of national security, and the DOJ can be slowed but not stopped. For Thomas to go against three appeals judges would be a surprise, and one probably not founded in the law, but on a whim. At this point, he can either completely risk his credibility (what little there is left) or he can let the opinion of three other judges stand. The sad part is that because of the justice involved, it is a matter up in the air...

Trump is just trying to waste time and draw this thing out as long as possible. That's always been his M.O. concerning court cases.

I sure he can reach back into the Middle Ages and find some ruling from hat proves that the right of kings overrules the constitution and the law of the land.

LOL!!!! Love those MAGAT lawyers who are too stupid to proof read - Trump's legal team made the mistake of using a word that they have not used before.

That word: possession.

The Trump lawyers, on page 30, the filing says the Government has sought to criminalize President Trump's possession and management of his own personal and presidential records."

Possession of those records is a crime.

They admitted that Trump committed a crime.

LOL!!! How stupid can they get. Here is the filing - www.supremecourt.gov

Some of the MFFPOTUS' lawyers are smart enough to understand how close they're tapdancing to the edge of disbarment...definitely NOT the edging to which they are likely accustomed!

I think they're so starstruck that they didn't do their due diligence on Trump.

He uses lawyers like paper towels. Except one. He took his $30,000 up front and skedaddled.
