The OPEC+ alliance looks set to make deep cuts in the amount of oil it ships to the global economy, which would reduce supply in an already tight market, despite pressure from the United States and other countries to pump more. OPEC+ is considering cuts of one million to two million barrels per day, sources told Reuters, with several sources saying cuts could be closer to two million.

Back in the day the cia would just murder these people and install a puppet dictator.

Those were America's glory days.

Why should this matter to an energy independent country like the United States?

But if Russia did it they would be Satan. I know you're being sarcastic, or are you?

Militarism is Wrong for Thee, A-OK for me.

I have absolutely no doubt that Russia had a great deal of influence in this decision. Russia and OPEC have an alliance.

Russia Controls The Oil Market At OPEC Today

OPEC secretary general says Russia's membership in OPEC+ is vital for success of agreement

For such a Russian sympathizer, you're sure an idiot.

And for anyone who still thinks it's a good idea to kiss Saudi posterior, left or right, piss off.

No russia is satan for slaughtering innocent civilians to steal their land.

And you serve satan.

When russia wants to restrict gas supply they just blow up an undersea pipeline.

Oil PPB will go up 2% and gas will jump 40%.

You mean like the way the price of gas goes up at the start of the "summer driving season" but doesn't go back down when it ends?

I am not sure what all the butthurt is about, this was all known.

Or did you forget already, when the talk of how "incredible Biden was to kiss the hand of the murderous Sheik and get them to up their oil production for 2 months".

Now two months later, with prices skyrocketing OPEC is going back to normal.

Now Germany claims Biden is war profiteering on the Germans, by spiking their pipelines and selling them LNG at a mark-up.

German Economy Minister Robert Habeck comes remarkably close to accusing the US of war-profiteering with LNG exports

All the while Biden has been draining the SPR for political points.

Good luck Lumpers with all the "russia russia" and "kicking the women out of the womens lockerroom" rhetoric, Americans aren't buying it.

Good luck Lumpers...

Does anyone know what this fool is babbling about with the "Lumper" thing? It escapes me.

Biden has sold off half of the SPR...

Got some numbers to show us?

#13 | Posted by REDIAL at 2022-10-05 11:43 PM | Reply | Newsworthy 1

Since 2015, Congress has been selling the oil in the reserve to fund the deficit, in unpublicized sales. The U.S. Department of Energy has run seven sales since 2017, selling more than 132 million barrels, or about 18.2% of what had been in the reserve.

I found some...

In Jan'21, the SPR had 638m barrels - in July (last reported date) the ending balance was 468m barrels (down 27%).

Yeah... 27% is not half. By 2028 it's supposed to be down 67% by 2028 from what it was in 2010.

Where are you cherry picking your 50% from... when it was twice as much as it is now? That's fair.

Biden has sold of 50% of the SPR

Biden has released 260m Barrels. Congress has sold about 370m Barrels.

and just blew up the Russian pipeline.

And you know that how?

shouldn't we be filling the SPR at this point

With what? Super expensive oil no one has enough of?

Common sense. You honestly believe Putin did it? Really?

I have no idea. Maybe someone should check Hunter's laptop.

" Biden sold half the SPR in the last year"

Horse manure. There is no 50% drop in the last year:

Why are you lying?

Answers my question first.

Why were you lying about what Biden did with the SPR?

And what was your source for that claim?

#24 | Posted by Danforth at 2022-10-06 01:33 AM | Reply

" because once WW3 touches off, then there really won't be any oil to buy on the open market so the US will need to tap the SPR - you know, like the whole reason it exists in the first place."

As if the SPR could fuel WW3.

"OPEC+ Plans Major Oil Production Cutbacks, Prices to Rise"

But hey, let's continue the insanity of relying on the black goo to power our world.

The best answer to this is to continue developing alternative sources of energy to make these dictators irrelevant again.

How any liberal thinks this is a good idea is a question that needs to be answered.

How any conservative thinks it's a good idea to let fascists invade and erase democracies is already explained - putin funds your party and loves trump.
