CNN panelist predicts 'bad night,' says Democrats didn't 'listen' to voters throughout the election

Democratic strategist and CNN political commentator Hilary Rosen said Sunday that she was "not happy" with the Democratic Party and insisted they didn't listen to voters in these elections.

"I'm a loyal Democrat, but I am not happy. I just think that we did not listen to voters in this election, and I think we're going to have a bad night. This conversation is not going to have much impact on Tuesday, but I hope it has an impact going forward, because when voters tell you over and over and over again that they care mostly about the economy, listen to them," Rosen said.

She said Democrats need to stop talking about democracy being at stake.

Before some idiot on the left jumps on this statement, it doesn't mean they shouldn't have been talking about it at all. The problem was it was way oversaturated and made it seem like there were no other issues besides that and abortion that Democrats were focused on.

CNN is now run by a Trumper so this is hardly a surprise Comrade Boazo.

How Democrats let blue states become GOP targets in the midterms
www.vox.com

...If Republicans have a good night on Tuesday and win a big majority in the House of Representatives, their gains won't necessarily come from the swing districts that have been perennial battlegrounds in recent elections. Instead, much of a "red wave" could come from blue states, with Republicans poised to pick up multiple seats in states like Oregon and New York, while Democrats in states that are less favorable political terrain might hold on.

It's a surprising turn of events that's largely rooted in self-inflicted injuries. The 2020 census meant this election cycle was the first with new congressional maps, and while Republicans were able to successfully gerrymander many of the states they controlled to their advantage, Democrats mostly failed to do the same.

Similarly, Democrats thought focusing on abortion rights would pay off in the aftermath of the Supreme Court's Dobbs decision in June reversing Roe v. Wade, particularly after they won special elections in upstate New York and Alaska. However, in states where abortion rights are protected under state law, the issue hasn't resonated with voters. Instead, Democrats have suffered as Republicans focused on issues like the economy and crime....

Predictable. Maybe they'll care once Repubs pass a few Federal abortion bans.

This election cycle has me scratching my head even more so than usual.

At this point, my view is that there has been so much turmoil created that few are listening anymore. That minds have been made up long ago, and now all we see are multiple spam text messages a day.

Just came up on the playlist. Good tune, imo...

Hammering on corporate profits being at an all time high would be bad for campaign contributions and advertising dollars.

Julie Mason had Jim Moran, a former (D) congressman from VA on her show today, and he was echoing these same sentiments. That the Democrats had shifted too far to the left and away from things that mainstream voters care about.

I'm sure of progressive friends here will simply blame it on fascism.

If Democrats lose their majority they will vote to arm Ukraine with weapons that can hit Moscow.

That will be their parting gift.

Well, yes.

Republicans had shifted too far to the right and away from things that mainstream voters care about.
