At the time, DeSantis was trying to build his street creds with the GOP. He was hoping that his "fight against election fraud" would make a bigger splash at RNC headquarters ~ maybe gin up a thousand cases of fraud.
I don't think he thought this thing through. He was about 980 cases short.

"He was about 980 cases short."
Ah, but that simply shows the Power of the Deep State that DeSantis is fighting!
Only DeSantis can take on the Deep State and Hillary Clinton and George Soros. He just needs to be President to do it. A Governor isn't strong enough. Doesn't have enough Cabinet level posts to Weaponize to Defend America from Socialism.

OK, to me this looks like...
Gov DeSantis wants to show that there is election fraud.
So, in order to do that, Gov DeSantis instructs his state employees to give state citizens incorrect information, information that indicates they are eligible to vote.
And, when those state citizens cast votes based upon what Gov DeSantis has told them to do, they are accused of a crime.
Do I have that correct?
Really, serious question, do I have that correct?

I like this video because it shows the cops just don't care about the truth at all.

Gov DeSantis instructs his state employees to give state citizens incorrect information"
I don't quite see where that happened. You're speculating, yes?
Though, that being said, if a Judge signed a Warrant, and the charge gets dropped by another Judge... It does make you wonder if perhaps DeSantis instructed his crony judges and DAs to make false statements to get warrants signed.
But, as the story indicates, the law itself is confusing and DeSantis probably has plausible deniability for whatever role he played in this.
Also, Federal investigation notwithstanding, no one in the Florida legislature would dare investigate him.

I don't see it as all that complicated. Sometimes the simple answer is the best answer.
DeSantis took a long shot to prove fraud . . . and it ricocheted back and bit him in the butt.
(Like something you'd see in a Saturday morning Bugs Bunny cartoon.)

It is not enough just to drop the charges. These people should be compensated for the inconvenience and emotional trauma they have endured. Maybe then state officials will think a little bit more when they play with people's lives as a political stunt.

Yeah when a Government official enacts a campaign against a campaign, not based upon facts but, based upon political ideoligies...
Watch out.
This case, and others, are indicative of what will happen if Gov DeSantis gains the political power of the Oval Office.
What guard rails will he have?
(I am not asking that lightly...)
I am reminded of a tune...

My understanding is that these people successfully registered to vote. And it was the responsibility of a part of the DeSantis administration to flag voter registrations of felons who were not eligible to vote, so they would be denied when they registered.
So it looks like these people WERE given improper information (that they were eligible because they successfully registered) and that they were given that improper information due to the incompetence of DeSantis conservative state employees.

I hope there is a jury trial option and at least 1 in 12 kick this sort of state sponsored terrorism to the curb.
