My word. One might start to think that Donald Trump is a crook.

Bender's tax loss testimony echoed what The New York Times reported in 2020, when it obtained a trove of Trump's tax returns. Many of the records reflected massive losses and little or no taxes paid, the newspaper reported at the time.

The Times reported Trump paid no income tax in 11 of the 18 years whose records it reviewed, and that he paid just $750 in federal income tax in 2017, the year he became president. Citing other Trump tax records, The Times previously reported that in 1995 he claimed $915.7 million in losses, which he could have used to avoid future taxes under the law at the time.

Just what one would expect from an ultra-successful businessman and self-admitted stable genius.

Whoops, should have been "Losses" not loses. My bad.

This comes as no surprise to anyone, including MAGA type folks.

It's about giving a crap.

I had read about Trump's business dealings years before he ran for president and came to the conclusion he was a -------.

personally and professionally.

Yet you voted for him twice. How exceedingly odd.

I had read about Trump's business dealings years before he ran for president and came to the conclusion he was a -------.

Then how did an entire political party find itself tied to such an individual who made mockery and cruelty the cornerstone of his march to the Republican nomination even before he turned his concentrated fire upon Hillary Clinton, bolstered by Russia publicizing stolen private emails which were scandalized beyond all reasonable proportions to the benefit of his campaign?

I agree wholeheartedly with your assessment of Trump and his business practices and machinations. But how could someone like him become President when his sins were right there for everyone to clearly see? Is it true Republicans operate on hate of Democrats and liberals more than they do from love of this nation (E pluribus Unum), our laws and the Constitution as it's actually written?

Tony, take this as just my opinion and nothing more.

I think most republicans didn't see Trump for anything other than..

1. Someone with an "R" after his name
2. Someone who was branded a non DC insider
3. Someone who went out of his way to insult liberals, who they can't stand nor trust in the first place.

It was simplified to all of that for most of them. ----- grabbing, prostitute hiring, unethical business dealings, etc were all forgiven in favor of the above 3 factors.

Oh, and they don't believe they are -------- on this nation, our constitution or the law by hating democrats.

They believe the opposite. That hatred of democrats is patriotic.

Gotta go......traveling for Thanksgiving.

Tsk tsk. That's no attitude to be carrying around during the holiday season.

That's really not something to be proud of, especially since your "chosen one" wanted to destroy the Constitution and install himself as king for life.

You made a poor choice.

Are you serious?

Republicans thought Trump was goimg to right the wrongs of 40 years of trickle down economic injustice and undo 60 years of social justice.

Which he did through gutting the Voting Rights Act and overturning Roe.

And a trade war with China that didn't have any winners but don't tell Republicans that!

"I came to the conclusion".

Was this before or after you claimed Trumps policies were your policies?

"I came to the conclusion".

Was this before or after you and jeffyjbell pranced around the DR chortling trumps "transparency" as "refreshing" after the 8 years of OBAMA's "oppression"?

apparently, according to a certain know-it-all here on the dr, republicans are motivated to vote for reasons that are trite and capricious, not logical

No wonder all they do is complain. They are ------- morons

This is not news to anyone who understands the tax code. It's also not what it's being represented as.

For example, that loss of nearly $700 million in 2009 and $200 million in 2010? They don't represent $900 million in losses. They reflect pocketing about $500 million, tax-free, in 2010. The $200 million loss in 2010 is what's left of the $700 million loss carryforward from 2009.

They also reflect an error in the tax code, back when you could (mistakenly) deduct losses on losing "other people's money"...which is how Trump got the NLC. And when Republicans fixed the code, they didn't make it retroactive. Because of that, Trump legally had a net loss carryforward. It seems like he only got caught in years when the AMT kicked in.

They also believe that an attempted fascist coup was patriotic.

What does that tell you about the party you spend so much time promoting and defending?

Trump is "smart" and "used the tax laws brilliantly". He told us!

I'm thankful for many things, savage.

On the list but nowhere near the top is that I don't know you personally.

Your problem isn't that I'm a know it all.

It's that I know more than you and I rub your own ---- in your face.

Where's the lie? The majority of your party of morons thinks the election was stolen, so overturning it would be patriotic.

The revelation of his rax returns destroys his only clim to fame; i.e, his business prowess. Successful businesses don't lose money year after year. His returns show he was an incompetent fool who lost a fortune because he is basically stupid.

-Where's the lie?

The big one is where anyone pretends you're an actual human being and not a piece of trash.

But specifically in your post? "the party you spend so much time promoting and defending".

I spend zero time promoting and defending it.

and anyone who is not a piece of trash knows that.
