The Georgia Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to block counties from offering early voting on Saturday, rejecting an emergency request from Republicans.

C"ounties in Georgia are not required to offer early voting on Saturday, but many have said they will do so, after Democrats successfully sued to challenge instructions from state officials claiming that early voting the Saturday after Thanksgiving was unlawful.

The move is a victory for Democrats, including Sen. Raphael Warnock, who is seeking reelection in a December 6 runoff election against Republican Herschel Walker.

Three Republican Party committees had sought to block voting on the Saturday after Thanksgiving."

More proof the Republicans hate democracy and do their best to suppress voters.

If this keeps up, the 1 percenters and the Corps won't have enough dupes to vote their big money interests... having been distracted by shiny objects like guns, Gawd, and barefoot women.

"The move is a victory for Democrats"

The move is a victory for voters.
It just so happens that Democrats are on the side of voters.
It's a proxy victory for Democrats.

And now the Republicans are trying to shut this down based on the claim that because each county in Georgia gets to decide if they're going to allow voting on Saturday after Thanksgiving or not, and since more Democratic-controlled counties than Republican-controlled were going to be open for voting, that this will give Warnock an unfair advantage. So they're now arguing that since most Republican-controlled counties weren't going to have Saturday voting, that NO county should be allowed to have Saturday voting. All they have to do is open these Republican-controlled counties to Saturday voting and their problem would be solved, but then that would be like giving in, and they would rather complain and try to stop the Democrats instead of doing the logical thing.

This is just another episode of right wing politiciass rhrow some crumbs to the people in hopes of making us belyeve, contrary to everything we know about elections in America, that we actually live in a democracy. Sort of interesting thst courts are now concerned about their PR, like politicians which Justices on the SC Cbiously understand that they are.
