Sort of a roundabout way of saying their fortunes are so vast there's no way one kid could squander it all.

They do realize that kids require love and attention/time from both parents right?

It gets crazy hard to do this after kid #5.

All on the spectrum. Don't let them in public schools.

Money can't buy them love.

It's like a narcissist's idea of bliss... reproducing their own brilliance and grandeur for generations to come.

A sleazy, self-worshipping sort of immortality.

Yeah, sure-have lots and lots of kids, 'cause there's no link to this planet's problems and over-population....

"A sleazy, self-worshipping sort of immortality."

Becoming famous and having kids are the closest anyone will ever come to true immortality. Why is it sleazy?

Um... because of whom we are speaking... narcissist billionaires who won't think twice about buying a media platform to assure their tax cuts keep getting larger, even if that means giving Trump/Q and or it's like a voice that is devoid of fact or reality and entrenched in conspiracy theories for political and economic gain.

Just gonna point out that building blood line dynasties is not at all a new thing...

This is just a reflection of our times, from Capitalism to Industrialization to the Information Age, that economic power is the dominant force in the world, surpassing military power.

Yep... the MIC is really just the IC now.

Neoliberalism, the New Gilded Age of Corporations and 1 Percenters says so.

They are just using the People's Gov resources to build other tech now, not railroads.

It's a completely normal US trend. If you are rich or poor, you are more likely to have a large family. If you are middle class, it's 1 to 3 kids.

"It's a completely normal US trend."

It's not only "tech titans" and it's not an American "trend" or invention.

And while we may be experiencing a pandemic "baby bump" the overall birthdate is trending downward in America. And apparently the "trend" is for wealthy have less children these days. Also education is a huge factor. Highly educated parents seem to only have 2 children.

"As the income scale increases, the birth rate decreases, with families making 200,000 U.S. dollars or more per year having the lowest birth rate, at 43.92 births per 1,000 women. Income and high birth rates are strongly linked, not just in the United States, but around the world.Sep 30, 2022"

Contraception and family planning (or lack thereof) are the significant factors and one reason why poor families sometimes have too many babies but it is also due to the need for more help on farms, in rural areas and poor countries, etc.

And in history ...

It is estimated that Genghis Khan fathered around 1000 children.

Henry the 1st had 24 that we know of.

Charles II Had At Least 14 Illegitimate Children

Holy Roman Empress Maria Theresa Gave Birth To 16 Children

And many more examples exist of historical "trends".

So not an American invention or trend ... shall I say it? It's "tragic" some people don't seem to know how history power and sex works. :)

Without crunching numbers the easy hypothesis is that they're in debt, are the lowest point of earning power in their lives, and can do basic math. Also feels like the middle class is going increasingly childless these days, but that's just speculation.
