So that " frontier of digital democracy" was to silent opposing views?

Jelani Cobb, get a job.

Oh, pooh!

Do you really think Elon Musk cares about losing a million users.

He's thrown open the barn door for every kook, near and abroad, who has a bitch to pitch or a conspiracy to spin.

You can never equate digital democracy with Elon Musk. As a tool for the GOP, democracy, digital or otherwise, is what he's trying to kill.

You mean people who want everyone to play by the rules they AGREED TO when they checked the Terms of Service.
Conservatives think they are above the rules.
Don't believe me? Look at what happens here on a daily basis: Rcade plays whack-a-mole with new accounts getting around earned bans. They're all righties.

Musk ended all the pedo hashtags like #MAP's where kiddie-porn was sold in only 48 hours. What where the previous moderators doing?

It is definitely no longer catering to the woke.

The lefty freak-out has been hilarious to watch.

A boat-load of hyperbolic hysterics with few, if any, tangible examples.

Losing a platform that openly discriminated against and censored effective voices against left-wing message dominance - God forbid you clowns compete on a level playing field - is today's apocalypse.

Blah blah blah. Why are righties always such beta bitches?

You knew the terms when you signed them. Don't whine when you break them.

Also, when your opinions are so sickening you get booted from social media platforms, the problem is you, not the platforms exercising their personal property rights.

No, that title goes to piece of shirt righties who upon finding out they disgust the majority of the world, whines about supposed rights and free speech instead of figuring out how not to be such a pile of shirt.

Go cry like a little bitch.

The "Terms" were malleable. Leveling the playing field is why you and your limp-wristed ilk are so apoplectic.

#14 | Posted by BellRinger at 2022-11-28 01:00 AM | Reply

No.

Just no.

First of all, apoplectic is just retarded.

Second, righties and their victim complex proclivities is just pathetic.

BTW I'm on Twitter. Since Musk took over the tone is nastier and more aggressive, my feed is full of right wing --------- well beyond what it used to be (lots of accounts I never interacted with suddenly showing up a ton) and I've gotten at least one hot chick following me and wanting me to be their friend to talk about bitcoin a day.

Nice strawman.

I'm attacking because, as usual, you're spewing ignorant ---- based more on right wing victim complex than reality.

All the right is showing is that they don't really give two ----s about freedumz or rights. Just their abilities to be childish, simplistic --------.

I imagine to some I am a lefty. I could care less. I also could care less about 5,000,000 people talking at once. Herd thinking does not solve all problems. Most people are dumb and all people are dumb about knowing everything.

Not Diamond and Silk, some set of comedian twins that are right wingers and every Repub politician under the sun.

#19 | Posted by jpw at 2022-11-28 08:47 AM | Reply

Yeah that's the algorithm for you. More than just what you interact with, but what it believes you want to see that will engage you based on multiplatform private data collected on you. It worked it seems, you could recite names of accounts that stuck out which generate high engagement content in the aggregate.

What you're seeing is a reflection that could best be summed up by reddits white people Twitter. Compare it to Black Twitter, it's way different.

Nothing makes righties feel accomplished like telling themselves they freaked out the left.

Sure, you supported lies that led to a fascist insurrection attempt, but did you see the way the left freaked out? Totally worth it. High fives all around.

"Leveling the playing field" = one competitor purchasing the playing field and hiring himself as the referee.

Tell me why trump, who used twitter to foment a fascist coup, should be allowed back onto twitter, but alex jones who only insulted school shooting victims shouldnt?

Because our new supposed nonpartial referee had a child who died, so he has a different free speech policy when it comes to dead kids than he does to fascist coups. Is that your idea of fairness and objectivity?

Nothing makes righties feel accomplished like telling themselves they freaked out the left.

It's the reason we got Trump. Pwning libz means everything to conservative.

Liberals champion education, intelligence and understanding.

So, conservatives have embrace ignorance, hate and hysteria.

What is "neutral" about elon letting trump, who used twitter to foment an insurrection, back onto twitter, but keeping alex jones banned because dead kids from a school shooting reminds elon of his son that died?

"Whatever happened to people wanting net neutrality."

You don't know what Net Neutrality means, and I don't think you know enough about computers to explain it to you either.

Well, an analogy would be if the account software you install decided it wasn't going to process any payments from a specific vendor, like Amazon.

Speak,

I can't say I know Musk as intimately as you apparently do.

There probably should be some off limit topics.

I'm not saying what they should be.

"There probably should be some off limit topics. 'm not saying what they should be."

Why are you shirking the central issue?

For example: VAERS warns folks not to connect "deaths after receiving the vaccine", TO the vaccine. VAERS specifically investigated EACH death, and found only the three they knew about with ONE of the vaccines. That error got corrected quickly.

Meanwhile, within the last week, some Republican blurted out warnings about thousands of deaths from the vaccine proven by VAERS.

IOW, someone is making a claim the investigators themselves warn NOT to claim. Do you allow this "free speech", knowing people will die from it???

#29 | Posted by BillJohnson

His whole justification for buying twitter was for free speech and fairness was it not?

Then in the first month he's already showing the policy is purely his own subjective feelings about a topic.

"No one in this world, so far as I know " and I have searched the records for years, and employed agents to help me " has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people." " H.L. Mencken (curmudgeonly conservative)

While it's true that the vast majority of people in this country are either underedumacated, underconcerned, overstimulated and or overwhelmed with other ---- to do, that's no reason for them to accept that reality is what Q and or Trump says it is... and please buy some of their tshirts and hats.

There ARE such things as facts.

And one of them is that reality can most often be expressed factually given enough time and desire to do so.

When one hasn't the desire, or the balls or the brains, to do so, one is probably one Trump tweet away from storming the Capital.

What's important is that it's really different form how Twitter was moderated a month ago.

Was this site purchased by a billionaire who was going to "fix" it to serve as a beacon of free speech for all with no censorship, like twitter was?

NO?

Then your comparison is moronic.
