Georgia voters set a single-day early turnout record Monday as 301,500 people stormed to the polls on the first day they were open in most counties ahead of the U.S. Senate runoff. Turnout was even higher in the runoff Monday than it was during presidential elections, surpassing the previous high of 253,000 early voters on the Friday before Election Day in 2016.

Likely bad news for Republicans. I wonder what else they can do to prevent voting? Nick Fuentes wants it banned under a Trump dictatorship.

#2 | Posted by Zed at 2022-11-29 11:32 AM | Reply

If only republicans could get rid of them nasty ballots.

Then they wouldn't have this problem. No more annoying elections and Trumpy could be president for life and Fuentes and his "red hats" could finally force people to believe what they believe.

Of course it is. People who value democracy are over-compensating in order to deal with people who don't, which includes most of official Georgia.

IT SHOULD NOT BE HARD TO VOTE.

They said early voting is proof of voter suppression? That's odd... they are completely different things.

JeffJ wants so badly to die on that hill.

He's going to have to commit suicide up there, because nobody else knows what he's talking about.

A. Who says it wouldn't have been more?

B. Who says it wasn't much harder but people more motivated?

Sorry, but if you read that people wait for hours...there needs to be an adjustment in that location to accommodate number of voters.

"According to some lefties this is proof of voter suppression in Georgia."

Why do you keep pretending if you suppress A, yet B votes for the first time, you never suppressed the vote of A?

"...if you read that people wait for hours..."

I took 7 minutes car-to-car for the midterms, mainly because of other issues/candidates on the ballot.

It would've been 3 if it had been a one-issue election. Of course, I voted at a white folks precinct.

Purposeful long lines = voter suppression

Churchill in 1947..."[I]t has been said that democracy is the worst form of Government except all those other forms that have been tried from time to time; but there is the broad feeling in our country that the people should rule, and that public opinion expressed by all constitutional means, should shape, guide, and control the actions of Ministers who are their servants and not their masters."
Make vote by mail the rule across the entire country, stop voter repression and gerrymandering, and watch as the masters become the servants.

According to righties it's a problem. Too many voters are being allowed to vote. That's awful. How are fascists supposed to win if they're outnumbered and everyone can vote?

"I haven't seen any righties condemning these numbers."

The GOP has already condemned the process that created these numbers, JeffJ.

GOP groups have requested that Georgia's Supreme Court prohibit early voting this Saturday in the state's runoff Senate election, arguing that state law dictates that early voting can't take place on that day because it follows the Thanksgiving holiday. www.dailywire.com

Early Voting Spells Trouble for Republicans. Here's Why.
washingtonmonthly.com

This spring, over several weeks, Economist/YouGov polls repeatedly asked whether "it should be easier or harder for people to vote in American elections than it is currently." Each time the question was asked, more respondents said it should be easier than said it should be harder. But Republicans disagreed. By margins of 40 to 50 percentage points, they consistently said it should be harder.

You either missed righties suing to prevent people from being able to vote on saturday, or you're pretending that you missed it.

Why does your party always think allowing people to vote is such a problem?
