The Ukrainians lie as easily as Trump.
Only idiots believe any of their figures.
Is this true like the Russians attacked Poland? Or the ghost of Kiev shooting down Russian aircraft?
More noise.

Savvy Genius Loses 6000 Troops In 2 Weeks
I mean, are guys thrown into the field armed only with broomsticks, their wive's tampons, and a liter of vodka really "troops?"
The real question is whether Ukraine and its allies will run out of ammo before Russia runs out of mobilized geriatrics.
Mr. Owl Voice: "Let's find out. One, two, three [...] 142.8 million."

Both the US and Europe are reporting similar figures in losses. Performance to date would also suggest a significant number of losses on the Russian side. Are the numbers exact? Certainly not, but we know that Russian deaths are between 80k and 100k based on several independent estimates.
Let me guess - the only reliable figures are the ones published in Pravda?

Also, why would Pres Putin feel the need to mobilize so many more troops, along with the apparent inability to train, clothe or provide gear and arms for them, if his loses in Ukraine were not so high?

Most of those competent to train are already killed. No equipment because someone stole it years ago.
Putin the Butcher.
Pressing these sort of troops into battle invites revolution.

Overthrowing putin would have resulted in fewer russian deaths than fighting in his attempt to steal ukraine's land and resources. Now you cowards get to go freeze and die in the cold because you lack the balls to oust the leader who's sending you there.

Too slow for the rest of us, but Putin's expiration date is steadily moving closer. Maybe his real goal is to outshine that of his hero, Uncle Joe?

I don't know if anyone has seen any of the footage coming out of Bakhmut, but it looks like France in WWI. Filthy, flooded, muddy trenches in temperatures just above freezing.
That's a type of warfare that has not been seen in more than a century.
It's like watching the new movie All Quiet on the Western Front.

Great movie by the way. It is currently on Netflix.
Regardless, if anyone seriously doubts that Putin is guilty of crimes against humanity they need to check out the images coming out of Bakmut. The man is a monster. He deserves to be executed for his crimes.

Torture allegations mount in aftermath of Kherson occupation apnews.com
...When a dozen Russian soldiers stormed into Dmytro Bilyi's home in August, the 24-year-old police officer said they gave him a chilling choice: Hand in his pistol or his mother and brother would disappear. Bilyi turned his gun over to the soldiers, who carried machine guns and had their faces concealed. But it didn't matter. They dragged him from his house in Ukraine's southern village of Chornobaivka to a prison in the nearby regional capital of Kherson, where he said he was locked in a cell and tortured for days, his -------- and ears shocked with electricity. "It was like hell all over my body," Bilyi recalled. "It burns so bad it's like the blood is boiling ... I just wanted it to stop," he said. More than two weeks after Russians retreated from the city, accounts such as his are helping to uncover sites where torture allegedly took place in Kherson, which Kremlin forces occupied for eight months. Five such rooms have been found in the city, along with at least four more in the wider Kherson region, where people allege that they were confined, beaten, shocked, interrogated and threatened with death, police said. Human rights experts warn that the accusations made so far are likely only the beginning....

Hey Effete, here's something to really rile you up...
Without nukes, Russia isn't even a Top 10 army in the world anymore...
1. U.S. 2. China 3. India 4. Germany 5. Poland 6. South Korea 7. Japan 8. UK 9. France 10. Turkey 11. Ukraine--with allies help 12. Russia...
All of these countries would wipe the floor with Russia in a serious non-nuclear engagement.
Put that in you bowl of Borscht and guzzle it!

Reality check: Ukraine mobilized the entire Ukrainian adult male population on day one. Ukraine's losses have been and greater than Russia's, and they have no additional people to mobilize (unless NATO wants to jump in and start WW3). Kherson was "retaken" to the extent that Russia moved across the river and waited for the Ukrainian forces to move in and get shelled.

Not true, not true, not true, and Ukranian artillery outranges Russian artillery at this point in the war and has for the last 3 months or so, there's just a lot more Russian guns.

#35 The Ghost of Kiev was an urban legend from the opening weeks of the war that some Ukranuan pilot shot down a bunch of Russian attack planes.
I believe it turned out to be just that, an urban legend.
It provided a morale boost for everyone expect the attackers, at a time before it became a quagmire and things were very much in flux.
