As the commissioners questioned Bush about why he did not authorize military activity to kill bin Laden in the months before 9/11, Bush mentioned that he had recently spoken with British Prime Minister Tony Blair who observed that "they were being criticized for not launching a preemptive attack against Afghanistan. And they were criticized for preemptively attacking Iraq." Blair allegedly told Bush that if the president had said "before 9/11 that he wanted to put forces in Afghanistan, he " Blair " would have been floored. I would have looked at you like a nut,' Blair said. There was an appetite for a throat ----' (killing Bin Ladin), not a war footing." With no apparent sense of the lethal irony present, Bush told the commissioners, "A president can't force preemptive war without a cause. The country didn't like war. I don't like it either,' the President said."

A Failed President. Prolific Liar. The Man Who Would Be King.

Democrat lies about a -------? Impeachment.
Republican lies about 9/11? Re-Election.
This is the Republican Way.

Maybe he can paint some more fruits and vegetables to appease himself.
The biggest mistake the commission made was allowing him to testify while holding hands with Dick Cheney and not under oath.
Worst.
President.
Ever.
Until 2017.

FFS why do we always find out critical information a decade after it would have been useful?

I'm sure the GOP will find a guy who will outdo Trump if elected.

Translate that to Trump-speak and we'd have a copy of "The Art of the Deal."

The second to last republican president lied us into a 7 trillion dollar war that killed hundreds of thousands, blew up the mideast and sent waves of refugees into europe, igniting an increase in anti immigrant fascism.
The last republican president killed a half million americans with lies and incompetence during a pandemic and then attempted a coup to end democracy.
Real hot streak. Can't wait to see what the next one does.

If there ever is another one, he will destroy this country, so lets hope and make sure it doesn't happen.

We knew most of this stuff before or during the early days of the raq invasion but when we said it out loud we were called traitors. Once we entered the invasion arguments against it were presented as attacks on our troops. After that misrepresentatation (intentional Fox News, if you still listen to them or still vote Republican then you are hopelessly lost in a cloud of disinformation and quite probably stupid.

It's refreshing to be reminded that the GOP totally sucked well before Trump arrived on the political scene.
