A victory for Iranian democracy. Looks like they don't want to be a republic any more than we do. Next step: get rid of the clerics. Theocracy only works for theocrats.

What pisses me off is that it took three hundred plus civilians murdered on the streets to accomplish this.

Doesn't mean squat without getting rid of their government. The ayatollah will just create a different police force to enforce theocracy and repress the people.

I remember being in college and some liberals coming back from Iran claiming that it was a wonderful country the morality police wasn't a real threat and that the reporters with CNN were just conservative propagandists.

Did you tell them the morality police are only a real threat when you fight for women's rights?
If you don't do that, what they said is probably true.

The feature speaker was female and the bs spewing from her was so obvious I found it fascinating to watch.

"A victory for Iranian democracy."
Possibly, but I would caution not to count the chickens before they hatch.

It seems the majority of Iranians want to be more like turkey.

Iran to disband morality police while American "conservatives" pine away to create one here

Conservists in America should live in fear of a morality police because such a force would arrest them first.

Wouldn't surpise ya'll would it?
It's disinformation that Islamic Republic of Iran has abolished it's morality police. It's a tactic to stop the uprising. Protesters are not facing guns and bullets to abolish morality police or forced hijab. They want to end Islamic regime. #MahsaAmini twitter.com

yeah, that's not how uprisings work. Not surprising, since you're a tool of the child-killer Putin slips on poop.

Wouldn't get too far out in front on this one. The morality police may have another name, but this regime and those akin to it in spirit and outlook (e.g., Afghanistan, China, Saudi, Russia, Talibaptists in the US) absolutely, positively require some version of morality police to legitimize and effect the repression and cruelties both large and small from which they derive their twisted pleasure.

Yeah this is definitely all smoke and mirrors. The Basij still exists and will continue to.

They won't give up that easy. They will just form another department to continue the same work.
