Have they considered not sexually abusing children?

Hey, I am gonna start a group where a bunch of guys live together, no ladies. We hate gays, but love a guy named Jesus. I will read from an old book written by random nomads that lost wars and made up a god to feel good about what losers they were. Also, I will tell you that you are good once a week for a few bucks and ruining your children for life. Oh, and I will also get you to focus on the afterlife instead of this world. I am so good and I love you. /s ... At least the religious grifter in ohio, Ernest Angley, asked his parishioners to NOT have kids so he got most of the bucks (he must be a boomer to be so short-sighted).

This is yet another reason why "Christian Nationalism" sounds like such an awesome idea.

The Catholic Church made a decisions about 700 years ago that had the probably unintended effect of enshrining homosexuality in the priesthood: It was when they forbid priests to marry. That's not in The Bible anywhere.

What does homosexuality have to do with pedophilia?

Good point Tor!
The only connection is the Catholic Church covers up both kinds of priests.

They already have bankruptcy protection. It's called not having to pay taxes. F them.

Sell a few palaces if you have to in order to pay these victims, you jerks.

My severely Catholic neighbors, who think the Pope is from Satan and vaccinations are evil and Trump was sent by god himself, had political signs out for a candidate that believes Florida's "don't say gay" law doesn't begin to go far enough. Of course they are blind to what their Church has done to millions.

Best choice I ever made, or right near it, leaving the Catholic Church and Christianity behind at 15-16.

Don't worry people. The Catholic church itself won't suffer because of this. They separated the financial status of each diocese so the church as a whole will never suffer from this kind of sexual abuse. /snark

The pope has, as a matter of canon law, absolute jurisdiction over all church property. He has no earthly judge. He could order that sufficient assets be liquidated to compensate all these people. I have respect for Pope Francis on certain respects. I would be supremely happy with him if he did that and I'm an ex-Catholic.

No earthly judge under church law, I mean. As a practical matter, he has none under civil law either. Let's be honest.
