Police have arrested at least 25 people tied to an alleged right-wing extremist plot to overthrow Germany's government. The group targeted in about 130 raids across Germany was described by prosecutors as being influenced by QAnon conspiracy theories and espousing a doctrine similar to that of far-right groups in the U.S. and across Europe.

... The group ... was described by prosecutors as being influenced by QAnon conspiracy theories ...

The reach of the QAnon idiocy sometimes surprises me.

It is no coincidence that these plots for a coup to overthrow a democratically elected government always are right wing. We never hear of left wing coup plots in any first world country. Fascism goes hand in hand with the right wing mind set.

If you're talkng about the orange and black ribbons, I don't recognize them.

The WikiPedia page associate with that image has this as an intro...

Reichsbrger movement
en.wikipedia.org

...Reichsbrgerbewegung ('Reich Citizens' Movement') or Reichsbrger ('Reich Citizens', the German word is the same in singular and in plural) is a label for several anticonstitutional/revisionist groups and individuals in Germany and elsewhere who reject the legitimacy of the modern German state, the Federal Republic of Germany, in favour of the German Reich, which existed from 1871 to 1945.[1][dubious " discuss]

The movement consists of very different persons with different beliefs, therefore it is difficult to define the movement and its ideology. Some groups are republican, others monarchist, some include far-right and antisemitic thoughts.

One typical belief is the claim that the German Reich[2] continues to exist in its pre-World War II borders, and that it is now governed by one of the Reichsbrger groups.

Several incidents with violent members of the movement and illegal weapons depots earned the movement the attention of the media and the German authorities.[3] ...

I thought we taught the Germans what to do with their Nazi's? You know like hanging them or the firing squad.

What is it? Do people have too much time on their hands? First the USA, now Germany? Dissension is all over the place. People should take a course in relaxation.

St. George Ribbons.

Along with the "Z" Symbol, probably the most common way Russians are showing their support for the invasion of Ukraine.

There were also some flags in the background with Cyrillic lettering, but I have trouble distinguishing between any language written in Cyrillic.

They do certainly look to be pro-Russian though.

WWII was a long time ago and Germany became a modern democracy but this coup attempt which folloeed traitorTrump's attempt makes me realize we must be eternally vigilant watchibg for those wgo consider democracy to be an inconvenienc hindering thpse withthe vision to see a future without hinderances forcorporate visionaries, like Henry Ford, in his day being buddies with Hitler.

Germany doesn't mess!

They know how to break up an attempted coup
over there. But then again, their history
is dark with memories of what happens to
people when they fold to tyranny.

Would that we could only remember when
we punched Nazi's in the face, instead of
coddled them on rightwing tv...

We need to be able to designate domestic terrorist groups as terrorist groups. We have no way to do that. Canada's designated the Proud Boys and Three Percenters as a terrorist group and that gives them significant leeway in monitoring them.

Germany can do the same, and that's how they caught these ------.
